This day began to be considered festive back in 1956. During this period of our country's life, construction was considered a priority industry - it was necessary to restore many buildings destroyed during the Second World War. And since the USSR chose a course towards the expansion of industry, the need naturally arose for those who would build factories. And, of course, this holiday was partly invented in order to honor those who left to conquer the virgin lands, and there were many such specialists at that time.
All these reasons clearly indicated the need for such a professional holiday as Builder's Day. What date was it decided to celebrate? This issue was considered by the Presidium of the USSR Armed Forces. And then, in September 1955, a decree was passed on the establishment of a separate holiday - the Day of the Builder. Celebrating it was supposed every year. And the date for the holiday was chosen pleasant, summer.

Each year it is different - because the date of the celebration is not tied to the number, but to the day of the week. It was supposed to celebrate Builder's Day on the second Sunday of August.
