People like to draw. Even those who believe that they do not have artistic abilities sometimes draw - at least for their children. And if you doubt your abilities, but feel a craving for creativity - try to draw flowers with a pencil: maybe after that you will believe in yourself and your talents.
You can start with the daffodil. Besides the fact that he is one of the first to bloom in spring, which makes him happy just because everyone is already tired of winter, he has an unusual (of course, for flowers) shape, but it is not too difficult to draw, even for an inexperienced artist.
Note: the daffodil is slightly different in structure from other flowers. The stem, elegant, slender and proportionate, flows smoothly into the flower itself, which consists of large, clearly defined petals and a cup.
It doesn’t matter if you draw from nature or use a photograph, or maybe a picture. In the latter case, if you intend to draw flowers with a pencil, you will need to make sure that the image is as clear as possible - that's all. But some kind of nature is necessary, so as not to distort the proportions.
First, the angle is carefully studied - the position of the flower in relation to the artist. Depending on this, the axes are outlined, according to which the daffodil will be drawn. The first should go vertically (or at a slight slope) through the stem, and the other through the center of the corolla along the peduncle. This line is needed in order to draw flowers with a pencil in the right direction. The location of the daffodil on paper, firstly, should be consistent with its proportions, and secondly, be oriented in the center of the sheet.
Then the outlines of the flower are drawn. Proportions must be observed! I would not want to get a head of cabbage on a thin stalk and with two stunted green stripes instead of leaves. Even an inept artist can draw flowers with a pencil beautifully and correctly, if he does not forget about the ratio of individual parts.
Further, in smooth lines, taking into account the perspective, contours are outlined. Closer details are drawn sharper, sharper and more detailed, more distant ones are somewhat foggy, softer.
The last actions that take place when drawing a flower (in our case, a daffodil) are toning, which should correspond to its color. Daffodils are dim flowers. Drawn in pencil (simple), they need shadows, background, shades, otherwise they will get a flat and inexpressive image. Shaded details are emphasized by enhanced hatching, almost white petals stand out with light strokes. The middle of the daffodil is darkened, and the stem and leaves become completely dark - this is only the background, it should not stand out, it emphasizes the theme of the picture.
After comparison with the original, finishing touches are applied, which should add to the picture of credibility.
