Winchesters, like any other “hardware” equipment installed on a computer, alas, are not only not eternal, but also are not insured against malfunctions due to the appearance of various unforeseen or permanent errors. At the same time, the operating system very often for no apparent reason insistently reports that Windows has detected a hard disk problem.
The solution to eliminate such a problem, it would seem, lies on the surface. It is enough to start checking the problem section (usually the system one), and then in the systems of the seventh and lower versions install automatic error correction of bad sectors (in the eighth and tenth modifications this is not required), and then agree to its execution at the next reboot (similarly, the procedure can be activated through command line). But this is not so simple, since there are many situations where checking the hard drive does not give the desired results or just turns out to be impossible. At the same time, disk status is monitored in the background, and a notification that Windows has detected a hard disk problem is issued again and again. You can disable its appearance in several simple ways, which will be discussed later. But first, consider the most common problems.
Windows has detected a hard disk problem: why does this message appear?
Most often, such a notification appears at system startup, since disk diagnostics are launched right at the boot stage of Windows.
As already mentioned, the standard check tools are not always able to eliminate the identified problems. This is most often manifested when the Winchester simply began to “crumble” or it detected too many unstable BAD sectors or areas containing fatal errors. The situation with the installation of the system looks similar, when after the first start it informs the user that Windows has detected a hard disk problem. It is clear that in such a situation it is best to replace the hard drive, otherwise, over time, the entire system will cease to work due to fatal failures. Almost all users think so. However, if I may say so, you can deceive the system by simply disabling the corresponding service, and quite simply.
Windows has detected hard drive problems: how to remove the constant occurrence of notification through group policies?
Among all the methods for disabling the appearance of a message about detected failures, we first dwell on changing the settings of group policies. In the editor called up via the standard Run menu, use gpedit.msc combination to find the hard disk diagnostics item through the administrative computer configuration templates, system and diagnostic sections.
On the right, two parameters will be presented in the window. By default, they are in an active state. Having entered the editing of each of them through a double click or the corresponding PCM menu item, it is necessary to indicate disconnection, save changes and restart the computer system as the current state. After that, the message that at some stage a problem has been found in the hard drive, Windows 7 or any other OS of this family will stop issuing at startup and during operation.
How to get rid of the message in the "Task Scheduler"?
No less simply, the problem of disabling the appearance of a notification is also solved in the so-called "Task Scheduler", which can be accessed through the computer control section or by calling its tools directly from the "Run" console.
To disable the constant reminder that Windows has detected a hard disk problem, you need to use the computer management section (administration), go to the DiskDiagnostic folder through the libraries and sections of Microsoft and Windows, and then set the parameters similar to group policies to the disabled state on the right, which, True, they will be presented exclusively in the English version. As in the previous case, a reboot (reboot) of the computer is required.
Other methods to disable a message
In principle, you can turn off the appearance of the above reminder by stopping the corresponding service (and several at once) or by changing the values of some keys of the registry, however, these two methods, compared to the above, are somewhat more complicated, and intervention in the registry without a clear understanding of actions and necessary knowledge is unacceptable.
In addition, the accidental change of a record can lead to the most unpredictable consequences for the entire system, and usually without saving a copy of the registry it is quite difficult to cancel the changes made (sometimes even a standard rollback does not help). Therefore, it is better to use the exclusively presented methods as the most acceptable and simple solutions to eliminate the problem described above, especially since there is nothing complicated in them, and even the most ignorant user of Windows will cope with such a task.
In general, it is not recommended to engage in disabling diagnostics by and large, since the possibility of timely detection of possible malfunctions and malfunctions of the hard drive itself will be lost, which can very strongly and not in the best way affect the behavior of the operating system. Such actions make sense only if you firmly decided to replace the disk, but copying the necessary information to another medium at a time fails, or there are problems with creating a disk image (or a Windows snapshot). If it comes to installing Windows or any other OS on a problematic hard drive or updating it, then it is already clear that it’s better not to deal with such things (anyway, after some time the hard drive will refuse to work).
