Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich, whose biography is described in this article, is a naval officer, 1st Ukrainian admiral, diplomat. His whole life is firmly connected with the army. During his service, he was always a supporter of the modernization of troops and their popularization not only at the city, but also at the international level.
Childhood
Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich was born on October 19, 1952 in the Vinnitsa region, in the Barsky district, in the village of Sloboda-Yaltushkovskaya. In addition to Michael, the youngest in the family, there were six more children. Parents called Bronislaw and Maria. Despite the fact that Mikhail grew up without a father, he kept himself in good physical shape and was distinguished by hard work.
Education
He studied at the Kiev specialized sports boarding school. He graduated with honors. He received the title of master of sports in basketball at school. After graduation, he studied at the Black Sea Higher Naval School named after Nakhimov. He graduated in 1975. He became a master of sports in marine all-around at the school. Then he entered the Grechko Naval Academy in Leningrad, graduated in 1987. Then he studied at the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Career
Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich - a military leader who began his career with the commander of the battery in the rocket-artillery unit of the destroyer "Secretive". A year later, he already led the control group of the Dreaming ship, which performed guard functions.
In 1979, Yezhel received the position of assistant commander on the ship Lun. From 1980 to 1985, he took turns in command of the Storozhevoy, SKR-55, and Lun ships. When Mikhail graduated from the Naval Academy, he received the rank of chief of staff of anti-submarine ships. And a year later he began to command a brigade of naval military vessels.
From 1991 to 1993, Yezhel served as a commander of the Pacific Fleet. At this time, he was on the list of best commanders. In March 1993, Yezhel swore allegiance to Ukraine and became deputy commander of the Chief of Naval Forces. From 1993 to 1994, he replaced the weapons commander, then became the chief in the field of weapons and ship repair.
In 1996, Yezhel was appointed to the post of admiral and inspector of the Navy Glavka of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. From 1996 to 2001, he replaced the Minister of Defense and became commander of the Navy. Ezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich received his appointment in a difficult time, when there was a question between the Russian Federation and Ukraine about the Black Sea Fleet and Sevastopol. In a short time, the minister strengthened the authority of the fleet and defined a strategic perspective.
In 1998, Rear Admiral Mikhail Bronislavovich received the title of Vice Admiral, and two years later became admiral. Yezhel is the first Ukrainian naval officer to receive such a high rank. From 1998 to 2000 he was a member of the Maritime Policy Commission in Ukraine. Taking an authoritative position, Yezhel contributed to the flourishing of naval diplomacy.
Despite the disagreements that arose with the local authorities, he participated in international exercises, strengthening the prestige of the Ukrainian Navy. Mikhail Bronislavovich took an active part in modernizing the field of shipbuilding and the material and technical base. From 2001 to 2003 he became the chief commander of the Ukrainian Navy. Dismissed to the reserve in the fall of 2003.
In 2007, Yezhel was an adviser to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych. From 2008 to 2010 - the chief inspector of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In the spring of 2010, he was appointed Verkhovna Rada to the post of Minister. In February 2012, he received his resignation, and on the same day D. Salamatin was appointed in his place.
Since April 2013, according to the decree of the President of Ukraine, Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich is an ambassador from his country to Belarus. In 2015, he was recalled from this position and in May of the same year he was dismissed.

According to the declaration, in 2008 Yezhel declared 287.5 thousand hryvnias of income. Of these, 110.4 thousand UAH is the salary of the minister. In 2014, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine filed more than fifty criminal cases against Yezhel for the active participation of Mikhail Bronislavovich in the destruction of the rear services of the army. And earlier, in 2003, Yezhel was accused of neglect of service and abuse of authority.
The criminal case claimed that Mikhail Bronislavovich sold auxiliary ships at low prices to local and foreign commercial organizations. Although the ships were on the balance sheet of the Ukrainian fleet. But Yezhel was never charged.
Another scandal involving Yezhel broke out in February 2011. This time, Mikhail Bronislavovich was accused of breaking the power of soldiers serving in the army. Simply, food enterprises refused to supply food until the state paid the arrears for previous deliveries. In March of the same year, Yezhel Mikhail Bronislavovich announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were going to refuse the services of commercial enterprises supplying food.
Despite such scandals, which, however, accompany any politician, Mikhail Bronislavovich is a master of public administration. In 1996, he graduated from the special faculty of the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where specialists of the operational-strategic level were trained.
