There is always an option to buy a finished unit, but such will be expensive. To begin, let's figure out which components play the most important role and how they should be selected for self-assembly. But also keep in mind that there are ready-made powerful gaming system blocks that can pull any new release.
CPU
It is believed that the gaming system needs to be selected based on the video card. But the processor also plays an important role. Let's start with him.
To date, the most powerful line of processors is the Intel Core i7. It contains powerful chips that can pull any modern game at maximum settings (of course, provided that you use the correct video card). Many users insist that you can even pick up processors from the Core i5 line, the power of which will also be enough for games. This is partly true, but it is advisable to build a computer with a margin of 3-4 for the coming years, so it is better to choose a model from the Core i7 line. But there are different chips collected, differing among themselves by the number of cores, their frequency, cache size and some other parameters.
One of the good chips in this line is the Intel Core i7 Skylake, which costs 22-23 thousand rubles. This is not the most powerful solution in the line, but its performance is enough to run at the maximum settings absolutely all modern games that were released in 2017.
According to the specifications, it uses the LGA1151 Socket, so the motherboard should be chosen with support for this particular socket.
The choice of cooling system
Almost always, a standard cooler is attached to the processor, which gamers do not use. They prefer to buy powerful cooling with greater heat dissipation.
Note that coolers of such manufacturers as Zalman or Cooler Master are most reliable and quality. Choose a model of these brands - and you will definitely not be mistaken. It is important that the selected cooler model fits the processor socket, otherwise it just will not install. Also worth paying attention to water cooling. If there is enough money, then this is a more acceptable solution for a good gaming system unit. The above-mentioned processor in the game mode with good water cooling heats up to 56 0 C. This is a very low temperature for the chip, and this is good.
If there is not enough money for water cooling, then you can get by with a good cooler. An excellent fan from Zalman for the socket of the mentioned processor will cost about 500 rubles. But in game mode, the heating temperature of the chip will be higher.
Motherboard selection

Here we have to stop and talk about the parameters of the "graphics" in more detail. This is one of the most crucial moments when assembling a game system unit. The cost of a good modern new video card is 14,000-15,000 rubles or more.
There are 2 types of graphics cards - from AMD and nVidia. Now it’s pointless to talk about the benefits of any type. Each has its pros and cons. We only note that good “graphics” for a good gaming system unit in the region of 14,000 rubles are, for example, the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (currently 13,500 rubles). It will be perfectly combined with the processor that we have chosen, and in a pair these components will make up a good duet.
The parameters of video cards that you need to pay attention to are listed below:
- Type of memory. The oldest memory type is GDDR5. It is worth picking up only graphics with this type.
- Tire capacity. A bus is a backbone for data flow, and it should be wide. At a minimum, a gaming graphics card should have a 256-bit bus, ideally 512-bit. Do not select a graphics card with a 128-bit bus. Such video cards are suitable for working with graphics, but certainly not for games.
- Memory size. More than enough 2-4 GB of memory.
- Manufacturers Developers of Gigabyte, Asus, MSI have proved themselves better.
RAM
Two characteristics are important here: volume and frequency. For games, you need to select from 8 GB of memory, ideally - 16 GB. The frequency should not be lower than 1600 MHz. Do not pick up RAM with a frequency of 1333 MHz. If you do not mind the money, then the so-called "high-speed RAM" with a frequency of 2100 MHz will be the best option.
Power Supply
To select a power supply, you need to look at the power consumption of all components, summarize them and determine the power of our unit. He must have a reserve. If the total power of components is 500 watts, then we need a power supply of at least 600 watts. It is also necessary to pay attention to the presence of connectors for connecting components, in particular, connectors for connecting a video card (usually a PCI-E 6-pin) should come out of the power supply.
Choose a power supply from reliable manufacturers: Zalman, FSP, Hiper CoolerMaster, Foxconn.
HDD
Everything is simple here. Choose any SSD with a large amount of memory. It is better to give preference to the manufacturer Seagate and Western Digital. Judging by the reviews, components of these manufacturers live the longest. It is advisable not to use HDDs in gaming computers due to long-term access to data.
Other
After choosing and buying all the components, you just have to put them in a good case. True, the case itself plays a secondary role, but it is desirable that it has active cooling. That is, it must have coolers to ensure the influx of fresh and outflow of hot air. And the more these coolers will be, the better.
