If you want to lay a new laminate or parquet, you must know how to level wooden floors. The advantage of this base is that it is environmentally friendly, it retains heat well. Before starting the leveling procedure, you should carefully check the surface with a long level and determine the height of the differences. All results must be recorded.
If the difference is large (at least 3-5 mm), then it is necessary to carry out work to level the floor. This can be done using scraping, plywood, drywall or other sheet materials. In addition to chipboard and plywood for leveling, you can use special self-leveling mixtures. They were created specifically for wood foundations. Thanks to them, it is possible to eliminate differences up to 2 cm in size. However, before pouring the mixture, it is necessary to carefully assess the condition of the boards and fix those elements that are loose. In this way, you can level the wooden floor under linoleum. And in order to prevent the surface from cracking over time, the solution should be reinforced with a reinforcing mesh.
During alignment, be sure to replace those elements that have already rotted or broken. In addition, the floor must be sanded and coated with an antiseptic. There are cases when the base surface has a very small drop, which, however, can interfere with the normal laying of the finishing material. For example, in order to level the wooden floor under the laminate, you can use the looper. Essentially, it will not be able to correct the surface level, but it will remove the old coating layer and make it clean. If the base differences are large, then the above materials should be used for leveling. In principle, these are all the features of the procedure.
