Second version: the dish was created by a French chef in honor of Alexander, the Russian Tsar. The third version of the origin: from the word "charlyt", so in Old England they called a dish of biscuit (cookies) with custard, liquor and layers of fruit. The recipe for its preparation was complex and lengthy, requiring skill and patience. Therefore, we often talk about charlotte, referring to an apple pie, for the preparation of which it does not require much effort and time. Despite the simplicity of manufacture, the cake is very tasty.
How to cook Charlotte with apples
Here is a recipe for charlotte with apples for big lovers of sweets. If you want something less sweet, then you can halve the amount of sugar.
Ingredients: 5-6 not very juicy apples, 6 eggs, 1.5 cups of sugar, 1 cup of flour.
We lay out the baking dish with paper, grease it with sunflower or butter so that the charlotte does not stick to the bottom of the form when baking. Instead of a special form, you can use an ordinary pan or a baking sheet with high sides.
Wash the finely chopped apples in a thick layer, sprinkle with sugar. Apples should be more than half the volume of the mold, and they should be cut finely enough for uniform baking.
