Lifebuoy did not save Igor Talkov ...

Poets in Russia always went under some unlucky star. They had fatal numbers, and no less fatal age - 37 years (Pushkin, Mayakovsky). It is strange that Igor Talkov, who left at age 35, did not reach this line. Even at this time, the poet did not save his lifebuoy, to which he cried out: “You hold me, do not let me drown” ... The sad statistics are that the flip side of talent and glory is death.

Igor - the name is warlike

Nothing happens. The name Igor dates back to the Old Norse "Ingvar", which means "warlike, truthful." Maybe the name had such an effect on the future poet and singer that he spent all his short life searching for the truth and fighting for it? But by an absurd accident, on that fateful day on October 6, 1991, in the St. Petersburg Concert Hall "Jubilee" Igor Talkov died not in the heat of the struggle for his noble goals, but because of the banal intersection of someone's personal interests. And the audience who came to the concert, perhaps for the sake of it alone, did not hear their favorite songs: “Russia”, “Lifebuoy” and others.

Where are you in a hurry?

So his friends asked more than once, seeing that he lives and works at the limit of human capabilities. And he always answered that he was afraid not to be in time. What is this an accident? Unlikely. They say that a person with his sixth sense foresees the future, and even more so a poet. But the paradox of poetry is that every creator - whether he lived 27 years as Lermontov, or 83 years as Goethe - manages just as much as he is given. And no one ever knows if something even more talented than had already been created would have come out from under this pen. Igor Talkov managed to become perhaps the first to tell the truth.

Yes, his "explosive" song "Russia" was sounded in 1989, when perestroika was already in full swing, but the "dashing 90s" - the time of subversors of all false (and not only) truths, had not yet begun. And then on “Song of the Year” the words “How could you give yourself to be torn to pieces by vandals” sounded like a shot. And then there were other such “shots”: “Former Podsaul”, “I Will Return”, “Lifebuoy”. Talkov found a way to the hearts of millions, he expressed aloud what others were still thinking.

Lifebuoy
It's hard to be a seer

And it's hard to please everyone. Yes, he did not set himself such a goal. Moreover, he did not set a goal to even change something, he understood that he would not have time. And it is not within the power of one or even many. Therefore, he sang that he would certainly return, “even after a hundred centuries, into the country of no fools, but geniuses” ... In the meantime, he counted only on his “life buoy” - on his conscience and high mission. And he hurried, hurried, wrote many poems, recorded new songs, toured all over the country, collecting huge halls, and acted in films (“Tsar Ivan the Terrible”, “Beyond the End”). In the action-packed film “Hunting for a Pimp”, Talkov’s songs were sounded: “Summer Rain”, “Lifebuoy”. Chords barely started to sound and captured the viewer until the plot of the action was forgotten.

"Lifebuoy" did not save

On October 6, 1991, during a concert behind the scenes, Igor Talkov was shot. Who shot, there is still no answer. Case filed in the archive. Talkov administrator Valery Shlyafman, accused of negligence, is still hiding in Israel. But Igor Talkov, Igor Igorevich, lives in the world. Very similar to his father in appearance, also a musician and singer. But whether it will be a continuation of the one who promised to return, time will tell.
