Foundation History
Voronezh Pedagogical University began its history with a teacher institute, opened in the city in 1914.
After 17 years (in 1931), the Voronezh Pedagogical Institute was founded. At its source stood such eminent scientists as A.P. Kiselev, S.V. Ivanov, P.V. Kapterev, and many others.
In the first year, the institution worked for the needs of the agricultural sector, and the university was agrarian and pedagogical, but soon the regulatory documentation changed, and the institute became exclusively pedagogical.
