Faculties
The structure of the university includes four basic educational faculties: pediatric, medical, dental and the faculty of biomedical and humanitarian education. In total, more than four and a half thousand students study at the university at a time.

There are six areas, two-level training in bachelor's and master's degrees: biotechnology, economics, adaptive physical education, biology, special defectology education and social work. Also, students undergo clinical training on the basis of 28 medical and preventive clinics in the city of Stavropol. In addition, the Stavropol State Medical Academy has four divisions of its own. These are the eye microsurgery clinic, dental clinic, borderline clinic and the minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery clinic.
International activity
SBEI HPE The Stavropol State Medical Academy has always actively carried out integration into the global educational space. The faculty of foreign languages has trained doctors for foreign countries for several decades - more than thirty countries of the world have received their highly qualified specialists. The university is accredited to prepare foreign students.
A non-profit collaboration is taking place with the National Union of Medical Students, which unites fourteen medical universities, where the experience of foreign higher education institutions in the field of healthcare is studied in the framework of international exchange programs.
Postgraduate education
The University has in its structure the largest institute of supplementary and postgraduate education in the south of the Russian Federation, where there are two faculties. Nineteen specialties are trained in internships, forty-three in residency studies. Cycles of advanced training and professional retraining implement programs in pedagogy, computer science, related and applied disciplines.
Today, the Stavropol Medical Academy maximizes the list of educational programs: advanced training, a second higher education, doctoral studies, postgraduate studies, master's programs, undergraduate, specialty, and now specialized secondary medical education. College
In 2012, the Essentuki branch of the Stavropol Medical Academy appeared. This is a medical college, where programs are implemented in the specialties of nursing and medical care. For example, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was formed during the Second World War, when the Dnepropetrovsk Medical Institute was evacuated to Stavropol . The Medical Academy is not only a theory with practice and scientific research. Everything has been done here so that students harmoniously develop and maintain their health. For this, the university has a swimming pool, gyms, a basketball court, a health center. The Center for Student Health is functioning, where constant monitoring is carried out regarding both the physical and mental health of all students in the university.
In addition, there is an educational work center that oversees the volunteer movement, dance and music studios, the KVN team, and patriotic education. Students are engaged in vocals, stage art, choreography, collect folklore, attend sports sections, and a tourist club is very popular. This is not all places where students spend extracurricular time. The university offers much more. And a considerable part of the events is held in four comfortable dormitories, where there are also lounges, computer rooms, and gyms.
Scientific activity
One of the main components of studying at a university is scientific research, which is an opportunity for students to have prospects for further academic and future career growth. STMU has in its structure the Center for Scientific and Innovative Development, where six laboratories operate: nanotechnology of drugs, experimental surgery, cell technology, the laboratory of pharmacology, physiology of the endothelium, the laboratory of pharmacogenetic studies.
Four scientific schools are successfully operating at the university. More than thirty awards brought from various international and Russian medical exhibitions and forums eloquently testify to the scientific work of students and teachers.
