After praying, the woman, in order to protect the icon, took it and lowered it into the sea. The image of a standing swam through the waves. One fine day, the inhabitants of the Iversky Monastery over the sea saw a luminous pillar that rose above the image standing on the water. After a vision, Gabriel went on the water and took the icon. She was placed in the chapel, but in the morning the image was found above the monastery gates. Attempts to take her back to her place ended in failure. Then the Virgin Mary again appeared to Gabriel and told that she did not want to be protected, but that she herself wanted to protect and preserve everyone. As a result, a gate church was built, in which the icon was placed. The icon "Iveron Mother of God" received its name from its location. In the history of the monastery there are many manuscripts about the blessed help of the Mother of God. So, during the famine miraculously replenished stocks of wheat, oil and wine. Many times the image protected the monastery from attacks. An example is the death of the Persians during the siege of the monastery, when a storm suddenly rose and sank all the ships.
