Probably, it is difficult for residents of most civilized countries, in which a woman is not perceived as a creature of some sort, to imagine that female circumcision is still practiced in many countries. Moreover, this is done in terrible conditions. And the impact of this “surgical intervention” on a woman’s life is simply terrible. So what is female circumcision? Information that will allow many to understand that we are fantastically lucky to be born in a normal society!
What is female circumcision? Two interpretations of the term
In most countries of the world, female circumcision is understood as a completely harmless procedure for health, which, in principle, is designed to remove cosmetic defects of the genitals. For example, removing excess tissue of the labia minora. Sometimes the mucous hood that covers the clitoris is also excised.
But! In 28 countries of the world, this is far from the case! There are completely different operations practiced. So female circumcision! Why do it, for example, in Africa? And what is pharaonic circumcision, as well as sunnah and excision?
To begin with, there are three options for circumcision for women. First: only skin folds surrounding the clitoris are excised, that is, it turns out to be constantly open and, therefore, more sensitive. This is referred to as Sunnah.
The second way: the clitoris and labia minora are removed completely. This procedure is called excision or clitorectomy. It is clear that after such an intervention, a full-fledged sexual life for a woman is a big question. That is, it will be just a conjugal duty, but not an opportunity to have fun!
And finally, the third option. The same pharaonic circumcision. It's still worse here. After removal of the labia minora and the clitoris, the large lips are sutured so that the opening remains minimal. By the way, fabrics can be sewn so that intimacy is impossible in principle. If it is decided that it is worth allowing the girl to fulfill her conjugal duty and having children, then the hole widens (again, surgically).
Now it becomes clearer what female circumcision is. But that's not all! It turns out that these manipulations are performed with girls who are about 5 years old. In some cases, there is no question of any sterility or the use of special instruments (as well as anesthesia). As a tool can be used what seems more convenient: scissors, glass, a knife.
Why do female circumcisions?
The answer to this question from the point of view of any sane person is simply suicidal! It is believed that excision and pharaonic circumcision guarantee that a woman will be faithful to her husband and will not become a girl of easy virtue. Accordingly, a girl who has not been circumcised in childhood cannot become the wife of a worthy person. She is, by definition, a prostitute.
Is this still practiced?
Unfortunately yes! For example, in the UK such a procedure was prohibited by law only in 1985. By the way, close attention of the public to what female circumcision is, and how it occurs, attracted the dark-skinned model Varis Dirie. This luxurious woman found the strength to tell the world about the barbarism that still happens in the world!
