Driver Installation Issues
After the entire circuit is assembled and the power supply is connected, you need to install special control software called drivers (so that the operating system installed on the computer can initialize the device, and it, in turn, works without failures).
Standard models, as a rule, are automatically recognized by the system, and installing drivers does not cause any problems. If something went wrong, you can always use a special drive that should come with the modem. If the modem is not purchased from the provider or if there is no disk, you can download the necessary drivers directly on the official website.

Enable and access the web interface
As a rule, for all devices, the address bar of 192.168.1.1 is entered in the address bar of any web browser installed on the computer. Setting up the Rostelecom modem in the early stages implies setting the correct parameters for accessing the Internet. If Wi-Fi is supported, then you will need to install these options.

Configuring the Rostelecom DSL modem or ADSL device
But suppose that the user does not have the disk at his disposal (lost, become unusable). What to do in this case? Do not despair, because setting up any type of equipment is quite simple.
So, for Rostelecom, setting up a D-Link modem (just take it as an example) starts with setting the type of connection. It is advisable to set the value of this parameter to PPPoE and not use the “Bridge” scheme, which can block access to the Network when the main terminal is turned off.
Next, manually enter the VPI and VCI parameters, which should correspond to the selected region of the user's location (for Moscow, these are 0 and 35). These parameters should be in the contract, but they can be found in the technical support service, even just by calling (although almost always they are set automatically).
Next, you need to enter a registered user name (PPP), specify a login, enter and confirm a password, select a service name, check the box next to Keep Alive and specify the options for the LCP interval and LCP dips (15 and 2, respectively).
Finally, at the very bottom, you need to check the IGMP field with a flag and save your changes. After exiting the modem’s interface, you can use the Internet even without rebooting the operating system, but with the obligatory reboot of the modem (just click on the corresponding button).
Setting up TP-Link Rostelecom modem
With the devices of this series, the situation is much simpler. The fact is that the devices themselves already have, so to speak, a wired utility called Quick Start.
In fact, setting up a Rostelecom TP-Link modem boils down to just choosing a connection mode (PPPoE), setting the time zone and entering a login with a password. In principle, what is not the same “Setup Wizard”?
The nuances of setting the parameters "Intercross"
The settings of the Intercross modem (Rostelecom) are somewhat different from what was described above.
When entering the web interface, you first need to select the “Wizard” launch, leave the VCI parameter set to 35 by default, leave it unchanged, and enter the value 8 for the VPI parameter.
Next, PPPoE is established in the connection type, and the items Obtain an IP address automatically and NAT (Enable NAT) are also marked. The address field is left blank. After that, the username and password are entered.
In the next steps, you can not change anything, and after viewing the information at the final step, you just need to save the settings.
Wi-Fi Options
Finally, let's see what the configuration of the Rostelecom WiFi modem is. In fact, such a modem can be used as the most ordinary router for distributing a wireless signal.
