Even those who have never been abroad before, know that a passport is required to travel outside Russia. Experienced people, never take time before getting a passport - they issue it in the winter.
Let us consider in more detail what documents (for adult citizens) are needed for its execution:
- Passport and photocopies of all pages with notes - the main one, with a residence permit, with a note about children, etc.
- Application for the issuance of a standard form, filled in capital letters on a computer in two copies. To obtain an old-style passport, an application can be completed by hand. Blots, strikethroughs, stroke correction are not allowed in the text. The application makes notes on work activities over the past decade, which are certified at the place of work (studies, if the applicant is a student). Before you receive a passport, an unemployed citizen must provide the original of his work book. - Before you get a passport, you need to take 2 color photographs in the cabin - 3.5 by 4.5 cm in size on matte paper. To process an old-style document, you will need 5 photos.
- For men of military age - a military ID, which contains a mark on the completion of military service. Or a certificate from the commissariat stating that the person who has applied for a passport is not called up for military or alternative service.
- For pensioners - a copy of the pension certificate.
- A receipt evidencing payment of a state duty.
Often a situation arises when a document is needed in the shortest possible time - for example, to take a child abroad for treatment. How to quickly get a passport in this situation? For an emergency departure for treatment, it is necessary, in addition to the documents listed, to provide a letter from a foreign clinic about the need for it along with a medical report from the place of residence, or a letter from the Ministry of Health about the need for this exit.

A separate document is also issued for a child under the age of fourteen. How to get a passport for a child and what is needed for this?
- First, write an application for the issuance of this document. The application is written by one of the legal representatives - official trustees, adoptive parents or parents. Grandparents, aunts, if they are not guardians and trustees, cannot write a statement instead of their parents.
- Secondly, the representative who wrote the application must make a photocopy of his passport and bring the original document.
- It is necessary to present a receipt evidencing the payment of state duty.
- Birth certificate, a photocopy of it with a note on the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
- A pair of color, matte photos measuring 3.5 by 4.5 cm.
If the child previously had a passport - he also needs to be brought. If the child has crossed the fourteen-year boundary, then before applying for a passport, you must get a regular passport and bring the original and a photocopy along with the rest of the documents for registration.
Usually the registration of a passport takes about a month. A few more days will be required to collect documents. Therefore, do not delay the preparation - it is better to do this winter or early spring, 3-4 months before the vacation, when there are no queues in the passport office.
