Miner's day

The history of such a professional holiday as Miner's Day dates back to the Soviet Union. Now, after the collapse of the USSR, it continues to be celebrated on the last Sunday of August, not only in Russia, but also in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Estonia.

Its history goes back to 1935, when the famous miner A. Stakhanov set an unprecedented record, this served as the beginning of a whole Stakhanov movement. At one time this was a kind of limit, which every proud worker sought to achieve.

The holiday was officially approved in 1947 on the basis of a proposal from the ministers of the coal industry. His first celebration took place on 08/29/1948. The Ministerโ€™s order noted that workers in this industry should celebrate the Miner's Day holiday not only with industrial achievements, but also with an improvement in their living conditions. On the eve of the holiday, measures were also identified that contributed to the strengthening of labor discipline. Tasks were given to the heads of departments in the preparation of materials on awarding those who particularly distinguished themselves in this difficult work, new machines were commissioned, decisions were made to increase the pace of construction and reconstruction of mines. In Moscow, on Miner's Day, a solemn commitment was made to achieve better success next year and to exceed the indicators that existed at the moment.

For some cities, which are the centers of the coal mining industry, this is the main holiday, celebrated by large concerts and performances, processions and festivities. In the Kemerovo region, annually, starting from 2001, a city in advance is chosen in advance where Miner's Day will be celebrated. Famous performers, musical groups, folk artists come here to perform, and the crown of this event is a colorful firework.

These courageous people with their hard work raise and successfully develop the country's economy, making a personal contribution to the common cause. For more than half a century, this numerous army of dedicated miners has received congratulations on Miner's Day. Paying tribute to their unsafe profession, I would like to note that they are a stronghold of one of the most key industries. They provide black fuel to the multimillion population and various enterprises that could not exist without this and function. It depends on the quality and quantity of the extracted raw materials whether heat will be supplied in winter, both to each individual apartment and to the institutions of the whole country as a whole.

Congratulations on Miner's Day are imbued with gratitude that I want to express to all the workers of this leading industry. Thanks to the work of miners, their professionalism and courage, coziness reigns in our homes, children can attend schools and other children's institutions, regardless of weather conditions.

High-performance mechanized complexes of coal mining enterprises will be the basis of the production potential in Russia in the first half of the 21st century. Analysts, assigning an exclusive role to the coal mining industry, believe that the extraction of black gold will remain at a stable level, and in the future it will only increase and even its sharp growth is forecasted. As we see, this profession will not only not lose its significance, but over time will become even more in demand.

Bring congratulations to your friends and relatives working in this industry on Miner's Day. Appreciate their fearlessness and willingness to take risks in order to warm your home and provide work for each enterprise.

Perpetrators of celebrations receive congratulations on the Day of Miners not only from their relatives, family, work colleagues, but also from leaders of political parties and local authorities. Events dedicated to representatives of one of the most titanic professions are held in every city, settlement, which at least has something to do with the coal industry.
