Among the Buryats, one of the most revered goddesses is Yanjima. Myths tell us that at first chaos and darkness reigned on the earth. Seeing this, the wife of Brahma Saraswati (this is the Indian name of the goddess Yanjima) descended into the world to overcome chaos with her knowledge. Janjima is now considered the patroness of the arts, sciences, crafts, students, children, motherhood. Prayers in front of her image help women achieve their cherished goal - to become a mother.
Dancing Yanjima (goddess)
In the Buddhist religion, Yanjima (Saraswati) is considered the goddess of prosperity, wisdom, her image is associated with innocence, purity, the creation of everything new. Childless families turn to Yanjim. In addition, the goddess gives eloquence, various aesthetic knowledge, and a subtle mind. She is worshiped by musicians and poets, artists and artists.
In the Barguzinsky area near the village of Yarikta, a rock is located. Here in 2005 a miracle happened - in the dancing image on the stone the face of the goddess appeared, its height was about a meter.
According to the old-timers of the local valley, at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Soda-Lama meditated at this place near the rock. He was the rector of the first Barguzinsky datsan. This man was amazing. Possessed the gift of foresight. In the 30s, the property of the Barguzinsky datsan was buried in these places. With his searches, the story of the discovery of the image began.
Image discovery
In 2005, the Lamas of the Buddhist Sangha conducted searches in this area for buried relics that disappeared during the years of repression. They were led by Panditokhamba Lama Damba Ayusheev. It was planned to choose a place for the construction of a new datsan. The event that occurred four years earlier brought the seekers here - in the cleft of the rock, the woodcutters found a pyramid with images of thousands of Buddhas here, this, no doubt, indicated the great importance of the area called Uulzataraa (Meeting). Two rocks here seem to meet each other. According to the legends, it is here that the world of people meets the higher world.
Before the beginning of the search and the search of the area, Dyamba Ayusheev fell into a state of deep meditation in order to “see” the buried relics. In this state he stayed for a long time. Suddenly, 20 meters from himself, he distinguished a face on a rock , it was Yanjima, the goddess appeared in a dancing form.
Surprisingly, before this incident on a rock, an image similar to this, no one had ever noticed.
From that day on, the divine face of Yanzhima began to attract hundreds of pilgrims to these places. Lamas from the Ivolginsky datsan group also visited here.
The worship of the goddess Yanjim
All believers are attracted by the dancing image of the beautiful Yanjima. He is revered, worshiped as a shrine, extol prayers, ask for protection and patronage. They come to the face from distant places to bow to the beauty and strength of Yanjima (goddess).
Everyone who came here believes that the manifestation of the face of the dancing goddess is special attention and preservation of the Baikal land, a manifestation of the goodwill of heaven.
In 2009, in the Barguzinsky district, the construction of the Barguzinsky datsan began at the site of the manifestation of the sacred face, and it received the name "Palace of the Goddess Yanzhima."

Visiting Rules
Before going to Yanzhima, each pilgrim must prepare himself internally, consider his requests, appeals, cultivate positive emotions and thoughts in himself.
It is forbidden to visit holy places and datsans when drunk, you can not drink alcohol near the territory. Smoking, loud laughter and talking are also not appropriate in the area next to the image of a dancing goddess. It is recommended that you behave calmly, do not disturb the peace of the saints, focus on thoughts and prepare for communication with the world of the gods. Everyone takes a silk scarf with him and ties it to a tree closest to the rock.
Before the Buddhist ceremony, in order to obtain a blessing on wealth and prosperity, it is recommended to bring milk, freshly brewed black tea, sweets, cookies, marshmallows, dairy products (cheese, butter) to a moleben (khural). After the hural is completed, the products are taken home and treated to their relatives and close people.
Entrance to the Dugan Temple
Before entering the Dugan temple, each person entering must conduct a rite (aka goroo). Its essence: in the direction of the sun you need to go around the dugan three times, while leaving rice and coins in the corners. When passing through circles of purification and repentance, it is mentally necessary to obey all your sins, bad thoughts and words. You need to enter the dugan by removing a silk scarf, another hat. Inside, you also need to go in the direction of the sun, while leaving “Dalga” and “Serge” in a special place. Money must be brought to the mandala, it is a sacred bowl full of money and sacred grains - a symbol of wealth and affluence. In the altar you need to bow to the gods. You can not turn your back to the altar. Here you can order prayers, purchase souvenirs, religious objects.
Ritual
From the Dugan up the mountain, where the face of the goddess of motherhood Yanzhima is located, new ecological paths are leading, on which informative shields are located. Before moving up, you can contact the local lamas and ask for advice on how to observe the rituals and turn to Yanjima. To the place of manifestation of the deity is allowed to take toys, jewelry, hadak, coins. Hiimorin flags can be taken home, hung in a holy place or left near the datsan.
Asking for a child is a special ritual. After the main rituals are performed, the brought doll is placed in a baby cradle, in this place was found "sasa". It is necessary to go through 21 circles, make a full stretch (there are special boards for this). In this case, you need to pronounce a mantra to the goddess Yangime, no matter aloud or mentally. Toys need to be taken with you and in three days to present to children in an orphanage or from a large family.
Who is Sadoy Lama
The master of Buddha’s teachings, the Sadoi Lama, has always been revered by ordinary people at all times, even in persecution and unbelief. Each house of the Barguzin Valley has its image. His deep experience and vast knowledge are an invaluable asset of Buddhism. The Sadoi Lama meditation master already showed his extraordinary abilities in childhood, he could easily move along the surface of the water, get out of the rain dry and easily climb the steepest slopes. They call it Sada Lama the Buryat Nostradamus. He possessed the gift of foresight and predicted many events of the last century.
Lama passed away in 2016. He shut himself, secluded himself and disappeared from the world, transforming his body into a colorful rainbow. He proved that the physical body can be transformed into space. Such a miracle succeeds only to the units on earth, the chosen ones. As his students say, going to him in a meditation cell, they discovered his reduced body. It gradually decreased, and as a result there was a flash of bright light, only clothes, nails and hair remained.
Yanjima holiday
The Barguzinsky District annually celebrates an event that is dedicated to the Soda-Lama, his departure to Nirvana. In 2016, we celebrated the centenary of this significant event for believers. At the same holiday, people remember Yanjim. The goddess Yanzhima in Buryatia is sacred and her birthday is celebrated on the lunar calendar in May. On this day, hundreds of pilgrims gather in these places, thanks to common prayers, the energy of the place becomes more powerful and stronger, the power of Yanzhima increases many times. This means that she will respond to all the calls of believers, hear their prayers and requests for the most sacred - about inspiration, health, academic success, creativity, marriage, the joy of motherhood.
A large prayer service is held on a festive day in the presence of the Shireete Lama, led by Pandito Hambo Lama.
