It is no secret that repair materials are always selected depending on the type of finish. Even such a simple option as cladding the ceiling with clapboard, provides many options. Before you understand how to properly fix the lining, you need to understand what, in general, it is. This is a molded product for the manufacture of which various materials can be used. As a rule, it is equipped with a groove-ridge joint system and ultimately forms an almost monolithic shield.
Materials
In the vast majority of cases, the lining is made of plastic, fiberboard or natural wood. The latter option is rightfully considered the most popular. Various types of wood can be used, but pine and linden are preferred. Therefore, before you learn how to fix the lining, you have to make a choice between these two breeds. Pine is used mainly in private houses and cottages, while linden is perfect for rooms with high temperatures: baths, saunas, steam rooms. The explanation is quite simple: linden, unlike pine, does not contain tar and, accordingly, does not become sticky when heated.
Features of each variety
In order to explain how to fix the lining, you should know the features of each type. Plastic lining can be either seamless or with a marked seam (this variety looks exactly like wooden - you can choose any color scheme). As already noted above, the lining can be made of fiberboard. For its production, the method of pressing a wood sheet is used. The sizes of this variety are standard, the color scheme is unlimited. However, do not forget that fiberboard lining should not be used in rooms with high humidity (for example, in the bathroom).
Ceiling Technology
Want to know how to fix the lining on the ceiling? There is nothing easier. This process is carried out in two stages: the manufacture of the supporting frame and, in fact, lining it with lining. Recall the basic rules for installing the frame. Before you make it, you should decide in which direction the lining will be attached. Then you need to make markings, after that, an aluminum profile is attached along the perimeter of the room with the help of dowels and screws. Now we come close to the question of how to fix the lining.
If you chose MDF or wood, you should attach the slats to the ceiling, and then close the joints with the walls with the baseboard. If your ceiling has a wooden frame, the fastening process is carried out in the reverse order: first, the plinth, then the strips, and only then the trim elements. A plastic lining is attached to the frame using a stapler (i.e. self-tapping screws). In this case, the bracket is driven into the inner wall of the groove. The wooden lining is fastened by means of small studs or self-tapping screws (holes should be drilled first). If you opted for MDF, purchase short cloves with large hats.
