Deferral, release and terms of call

What is a military draft? In fact, this is a set of measures aimed at staffing various troops in order to ensure the security of the country. In Russia, only healthy young men who have reached the age of majority and not older than 27 years are attracted to the service.

Few people know that the terms of conscription in the army differ across the country depending on the region of residence. If in spring young people should come to the military registration and enlistment office to serve from 01.04 to 15.06, then residents of regions equated to the Far North, and citizens living in the Far North, the arrival period is postponed. For these categories of the population, the terms of conscription are set from 01.05 to 15.07. In the same period, future recruits involved in the pedagogical activity of educational institutions should come to the draft board. This is due to the need to take stock after the end of the school year, the presence of teachers in the exam.

For ordinary citizens who are not in stock, the deadlines for conscription in the autumn period are from 01.10 to 31.12. A deferment is made to people employed in harvesting in the agricultural industry. They must appear at the recruiting office from 15.10 to 31.12. Draft periods for residents of the Far North and territories equated to it cover the period from November 1 to December 31.

Let us consider in more detail the reasons why a potential recruit can be relieved of service.

  1. Of course, first of all, this is a state of health. A citizen whom the doctors recognized during the medical examination as being of limited usefulness or unsuitable for military service will be released from it.
  2. They can be relieved of service in Russia if he has already served in another country.
  3. If he has a degree.
  4. If the given citizen has chosen an alternative option of service.
  5. If he is the son (brother) of a soldier who died in military duty, or who was at training camp and died in the performance of military duties. Either injured or injured while serving, which caused death upon arrival home.
  6. If he is a prisoner at the time of the call, he is serving a sentence in a colony, prison or is in correctional labor. If a citizen has been tried previously or is under investigation, he will not be called up either.

Obviously, there are not many reasons for relieving a conscript from service. On the other hand, you can take advantage of the delay. It is given to the following categories:

  1. Young men under the age of 20 who receive general, primary vocational or secondary education.
  2. Students receiving higher education in full-time education (postponement is granted until the end of training).
  3. Deputies for the period of their authority.
  4. Men who are officially married, have one child and expect a second, if the wife's gestational age is more than 26 weeks.
  5. Boys with two or more children.
  6. Conscripts raising a disabled child under 3 years old.
  7. Single fathers.
  8. Young men who are taking care of a minor brother or sister by law (provided there are no other guardians).
  9. Men engaged in the constant care of close legally incompetent needy relatives (grandmother, uncle, parents), provided that there are no other persons who can carry it out.
  10. Recognized as temporarily incapacitated (for a period of up to a year), for example, upon receipt of a fracture requiring a long recovery.

The conscript is required to come to the meeting of the special commission and a physical examination. In the case of a successful medical examination, he must appear within the specified time to perform military distribution service. Today, soldiers are being called up for a year.
