In 1938, she was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet activity and sentenced to death. In February of that year, she was shot. Martyr Vera (Samsonova)
Vera Samsonova was born in 1880 in one of the villages of the Tambov province. She graduated from the female school, then worked as a teacher, while attending the temple. Faith was arrested in 1935, sentencing for counter-revolutionary activities to five years of corrective labor in the camps. Before living for two weeks, Vera died in 1940 in the White Sea-Baltic camp. It was glorified in 2000. Martyr Vera of Rome
The holy martyr from Rome named Vera is one of the daughters of Sofia, who was tortured in front of her mother for professing Christianity in the 2nd century under the emperor Hadrian.
