A bit of history
In our country, road workers officially began to celebrate their professional holiday after the head of state in early November 1996 initiated the creation of a corresponding decree. Four years later, Road Worker Day in Russia began to be celebrated every third Sunday of October.
On this day, congratulations are received by all those who in practice deal with the arrangement and maintenance of roads, as well as the construction of highways and bridges. It is thanks to the road workers in our country (although not everywhere) that there is a high-quality and safe road network connecting the various Russian regions.
Does Russia need this holiday?
Some may ask: “How relevant is the introduction in Russia of such a holiday as Road Worker’s Day?”. The answer is quite simple: in our country there is a process of active development of road infrastructure. The age of high technology and the increasing demand for the car as a means of transportation have contributed to a radical renewal of the tasks that were previously set for the road industry. Of course, this has increased the range of rights and obligations of workers employed in the above field of activity.
It is they who must take care of the high level of convenience, comfort, and most importantly, safety on the roads of our vast Motherland. The ever-growing needs of road users must be met in a timely manner.

Of course, in our country such a professional holiday, as Road Worker’s Day, is simply necessary. Of course, we must pay tribute to all those who, in practice, care about the implementation of projects for the construction and development of road paintings throughout Russia. Recently, it was possible to update most of the federal and regional routes. Modern roads make it possible to travel around the country by car with comfort. Of course, this is the merit of those involved in the arrangement and maintenance of highways.
The day of the road worker appeared on the list of professional holidays in our country for a reason. In this way, the leaders of the state expressed a desire to emphasize the importance of their work.
On the day of road workers, congratulations addressed to workers, designers, drivers, machine operators are told by their immediate superiors, colleagues, friends and relatives.
The Day of Road Workers 2013 was held in an atmosphere of celebration. In the regions, the governors on their behalf warmly congratulated all those who work "tirelessly" in the above field of activity.
