The motor boat "Sarepta" was developed by the engineers of the Volgograd shipyard. The ship in question was supposed to be used for long tourist trips. In addition, the developers tried to give the boat an advanced functionality that allows you to tow water skiers, engage in research, patrol, and rescue activities.
general information
Such use implied increased and peculiar requirements for the technological and structural equipment of the vessel. The boat “Sarepta” deserved popularity due to its reliability, high-quality assembly of sides, hull and bottom, as well as high-speed performance.
Motorbike has a number of advantages compared to similar models. It provides a sliding cabin, which, by moving to the rear, forms an open cockpit above the control compartment. If necessary, the cabin could be removed completely. Manufacturers have successfully combined trimaran contours and good pitching of the bottom. These decisions gave the ship excellent seaworthiness.
Housing design
The hull of the boat in question is made of an alloy of aluminum and magnesium. The thickness of the bottom is two millimeters, with a similar indicator of the sides half a millimeter thinner. Housing parts are connected by a welding method, which facilitated maintenance and minimized riveted areas.
The Sarepta boat is equipped with stiffeners and a set of frames that additionally strengthen the hull. The transom is made of oak boards and is adapted for mounting a pair of motors with a total capacity of 50 horsepower. The buoyancy of the vessel is ensured by special blocks located around the perimeter. In addition, foam elements are installed under the sides and the deck. Such a design allows the floating means to be on the surface of the water even with complete flooding.
Inner space
Aluminum motor boats "Sarepta" are equipped with a sliding cabin, which makes it possible to free up part of the space if necessary. The rest of the cockpit equipment is much like a car layout. The whole-curved glazing is made over the entire width of the hull; a flat and wide sides in the bow provide a comfortable entrance to the cockpit.
In the configuration, an awning is attached to the cabin, with which you can equip the enclosed space as a cabin. Soft and hard seats fold out, transforming into sleeping places, which can comfortably accommodate at least three people. Under the longitudinal banks lockers are provided, and access to the fuel tanks is carried out by folding the aft sofa.
Equipment
The Sarepta boat is equipped with special glass seals to prevent splashes from entering the wheelhouse. The control post is located at the panoramic “windshield”, and a mechanical window cleaner and a rear-view mirror simplify the maintenance of the vessel under difficult weather conditions.
Oarlocks for oars, which are used when the engine breaks down or, if necessary, silent movement, are attached to the side parts of the sides. A transom is a vertical board with a thickness of up to 30 millimeters in the rear and a height of one and a half meters above the surface of the water. Outboard motors are mounted on top of the transom with staples. They can be combined with special rods, which synchronizes the control of the craft. The dimensions of the power units are unified and compatible with most boats. The propellers are removable, can change quickly to adjust the speed or traction.
Technical indicators
The motor boat Sarepta has the following technical parameters:
- maximum length / width / height - 4.65 / 1.6 / 0.65 meters;
- the degree of pitching in the bottom of the transom is eight;
- passenger capacity - six people;
- aggregate ultimate power of power plants - 60 horsepower;
- capacity indicator - 450 kilograms;
- maximum wave height - 750 millimeters;
- weight of the vessel with equipment - 235 kg.
Below is an explanation of the schematic image: 1 - hatch; 2 - nasal grip; 3 - frontal wall; 4 - handrails; 5 - movable cutting element; 6 - backrest; 7 - a niche under the engine; 8 - compartment for storing mooring lines.
Advantages and disadvantages
The Sarepta boat, the technical characteristics of which allow it to be used for various purposes, has objective pros and cons. The advantages of this vessel include the following:
- Excellent performance with good stability and germination to the wave, which is provided by trimaran contours.
- Against the wave, the Sarepta boat is softer than many competitors in its class.
- Starting sustainability is at the highest level, which is very much appreciated by scuba divers.
- The presence of a sliding cabin, which makes it possible to quickly hide from the weather or make an open version of the vessel.
- High-quality material for the manufacture of the bottom, little susceptible to corrosion processes.
The disadvantages of the considered floating means include welded deformation of the metal on the sides, this is especially noticeable in the first versions. In addition, if the elements are poorly welded, they are less reliable than fixing by riveting.
Exploitation
Aluminum motor boats “Sarepta” are an excellent means of transportation for long-term tourism, patrolling, job assignments, as well as a tugboat for skiers and scuba divers.
Operation of the vessel in fresh and salt water is allowed at a wave height of up to 750 millimeters. Consider the main boat motors that are most often used:
- Whirlwind-30 is an economical option, with a power of 22 kilowatts, it provides stable gliding at a speed of up to 30 kilometers per hour (with four people on board). Fuel is consumed in the amount of 0.37 liters per kilometer.
- "Whirlwind" with a capacity of 14.7 kW - used in combination with a propeller, the pitch of which is 240-260 mm. Optimally, the ship glides with two or three passengers.
- A pair of Vikhr-M engines provides speed with five people on board up to 47 km / h. Fuel consumption is about 0.65 l / km, standard screws 24 * 30 centimeters are used.
- Two Neptune-23 motors are integrated with two-bladed propellers with a diameter of 230 millimeters. The speed indicator in this configuration is 55 km / h.
In conclusion, it can be noted that the Sarepta boat, the tuning of which can be done with one's own hands, is considered one of the most successful developments of Soviet shipbuilders. The ship is still enjoying success thanks to its reliability, practicality and versatility.
