History of the foundation of the university
Earlier in the territory of Stavropol there were two large universities: the Stavropol State and the North Caucasian Technical. It was on their basis in 2012 that the North Caucasus Federal University (SKFU) was founded.

Educational activity at the university is carried out by about 1627 teachers. The number of students, including foreign ones, is about 22,720 people. In SKFU there are almost 170 areas of both undergraduate and specialist studies, as well as graduate and postgraduate studies.
North Caucasus University consists of 10 institutes:

The peculiarity of the student knowledge assessment system
For transparency of the knowledge assessment system and for the convenience of students and teachers, there is a point system and an electronic campus at North Caucasus University.
Each student receives a login and password to enter the system upon admission. He can find out the number of students who applied for the same course and look at the surname lists of applicants. There is also a schedule of couples with building numbers, classrooms and the name of the teacher. You can find the schedule of any group and teacher, which simplifies the process of interaction.
On campus, current grades that are calculated on a point system are visible. For each subject, at least 3 control points will be held during the semester, for each of which the student will receive a certain number of points. At the end of the semester, the points are summed up, and on this basis the student is awarded or not set off. Points earned during the academic half-year are admission to the exam. The final grade for the exam is made up of points for control points and points for the response to the exam. This system allows you to distribute the load evenly throughout the semester and not overload the student during the test week.
