Without a properly laid route, the ship will not reach the desired point. Without the correctly formulated goal of the term paper, it will not be easy for a student to convince the commission that the work is really worthy. The good structure of your first serious research is manifested precisely in a clear statement of goals and, more importantly, in accordance with the rest of the text of the course goal and the tasks arising from it. Therefore, the advice to write an introduction after writing the rest of the work seems dubious. That is, of course, this can be done, but not every person is able to "fit" the goal into an existing structure. Therefore, listen to the recommendations of an experienced person - the purpose of the course work and tasks formulate immediately, and do not put off until later.
First steps
Stress before you start writing all your scientific work will save you a lot of strength and nerve cells.
However, it is practically impossible to clearly articulate everything that is needed for introduction immediately after choosing or obtaining the goal of a
scientific work - you are still not deep enough in the topic, on the one hand, and you do not see the situation as a whole, on the other.
The purpose of the study in the term paper is not written immediately. It is written after you have "read", that is, have already read quite a lot of work on your topic. Yes, after you have received the topic, you can first formulate the goal of the term paper, but be prepared to review.
There are no trifles
Usually good students formulate research objectives at the same time. Tasks are 3-5 concretizations of a big goal, specific steps that need to be taken to solve the problem. It is important that each task formulated in the introduction corresponds to a larger or smaller structural unit in the body of the work itself.
That is, the corresponding chapter, section or paragraph. If you are writing a term paper for the first time, limit yourself to three tasks based on the goal of the course work.
Consider the specifics of your university
If you have not yet chosen a research topic or even a department, take this issue very responsibly. A good supervisor can teach you how to write a goal for a term paper. Some even write it for students themselves, but it is better not to bring the matter to such a situation. Most often, the goal of the term paper is formulated in a conversation between the teacher and the student.
At least if you yourself have chosen a leader, and he likes to work with students, he will offer help. Be sure to use it, because, in addition to the general requirements, each university has its own “favorite” and “unloved” words that you need or, therefore, cannot be used when writing a work.
Where to get information
The best way to find out what's what is to go to a special course or an introductory course devoted to the rules of scientific research. There you will not only learn how to formulate a goal, but also learn the features of its design for your country and university. Be careful when buying manuals for writing term papers - in order for such a book to be useful, it is necessary that it be published as close as possible to the time of purchase and, more importantly, it is published at your university.
Otherwise, it is a waste of money and time - every university, even within the framework of GOST, has its own requirements for the formulation of goals, objectives, relevance, novelty and other components of the introduction of term paper.
Not “do” but “do”
Now about the most common requirements for choosing words for a statement of purpose. It is extremely important to use verbs of a perfect form - that is, answering the question "what to do?" In the infinitive - to identify, establish, formulate, prove, calculate, and the like. Verbs that answer the question “what to do?” Are extremely undesirable to use - usually this is the same red rag that infuriates the chairman of the commission (provided the mood is rather bad). Therefore, choose expressions so that there are no imperfect verbs in your introduction. In this sense, the verb “research” is also dangerous - for it the forms of the perfect and imperfect form coincide, therefore it is better not to use it at all or to use it, but in conjunction with the verb of clearly perfect form. An example of term paper with the goal formulated correctly: "We set out to study the differences between the tubular and cancellous bones of birds and to establish a relationship between the function, location and structure of these types of bones."
Two types of teachers

Much depends on the personality characteristics of your supervisor and head of the department. At the same time, there are people who care about the form, and there are those who pay more attention to the content. The first one needs a science of science - a lot of borrowed terms (but you must understand them), verbal nouns, long and complex sentences with participles and participles. The second thing you need to see is that you clearly understand and set out well, because often in a complex language there are insufficiently clear ideas. Of course, the latter are more talented and smarter - if you come across just such a leader, and you want to do science - you are lucky, he will teach. For such people, the goal must be formulated using verbs, as in the example above. But if you come across a “bureaucrat from science”, then boldly turn in verbal nouns. "The purpose of this course work is to study the difference between the tubular and cancellous bones of birds with the establishment of a relationship between the function, location and structure of these types of bones." Boring? Yes. But they do not argue with the authorities. Although the verb variant sounds better, it’s worth adjusting to your supervisor, because it is he who has the primary right to vote when you mark.
You can argue with smart
Be mentally prepared for the fact that your clear, concise and such a long-suffering goal will be criticized to the nines. Is it worth arguing? With a smart leader - it’s worth it if you can clearly argue your position. You don’t have to argue with a fool - do as he says, this is not a graduation paper evaluated by the HEC, while evaluating a course supervisor is literally king and god. Are you not sure that you can formulate the goal of the term paper yourself? An example can be asked from the teacher and made by analogy.

But draw conclusions and next year in advance look at someone more adequately. Smart people make mistakes, but they can draw conclusions. And in general, if you are not going to do science after high school, choose the department that is the “easiest” according to reviews. There are many examples when a student from the “easy” department receives a higher mark than the one who really suffered from his demanding department. Worst of all, when a not-too-smart leader finds fault with the little things, and you write the goal with attempts like that with the tenth, and you personally don’t like the result.
Summary
How to write a goal of term paper? You should start working on the goal immediately after receiving the topic, be mentally prepared for its criticism and alterations (the bill goes by dozens of times for especially boring leaders), at the same time formulate the goal and objectives, be careful in choosing verbs or corresponding verbal nouns, and also take into account features of the person with whom you work - and, accordingly, write in a scientifically or really scientific way. There is no need to argue, but conclusions for the coming year must be made. Also remember that your own goals are much more important than the formal goal of the course work - do not overstrain yourself unnecessarily if you are a practitioner who does not like science. But remember that a lazy person is not a practitioner yet, therefore some violence against yourself is a prerequisite for writing a term paper yourself.
