As you know, the engine needs oxygen and fuel. And if only atmospheric pressure is enough to supply the first, then the fuel must be supplied by force, using a pump. It can be of various types. Previously, carburetor cars were equipped with mechanical elements. The VAZ-2112 gasoline pump is a more modern, electric. How is it arranged and how to replace it? Principle of operation
The operation of the element is practically no different from the principle of operation of a mechanical pump. So, the element acts thanks to the core, which is drawn into the electromagnetic valve. On the first dozen models, this pump was mechanical and located in the engine compartment. But the "dvenashka" appeared a little later, in '98, and was already equipped with completely injection engines with distributed injection. Therefore, the design uses a submersible electric gas pump. On the VAZ-2112 injector (16 and 8 valves) is in the tank. To be more precise, the element is located under the pillow of the back row, on the right side. For its convenient maintenance, a special hatch is provided.
Why the element could not be placed according to the classical scheme? The fact is that the electric pump operates at a higher pressure and quickly heats up. Therefore, he needs a cooler. In order not to complicate the design with a new radiator, the engineers decided to place the element in the tank. Thus, gasoline itself is a pump cooler. In addition, all the noises that arise from his work are suppressed in the tank.
Symptoms
It is worth noting that the gas pump installed on the VAZ-2112 injector has a high resource. But regular driving on an empty tank and untimely replacement of filters can aggravate its work. Therefore, you need to know the main signs of its malfunction.
The first characteristic symptom is the difficult start of the motor. Moreover, this can occur both βon hotβ and βon coldβ. This suggests that it is difficult for the pump to generate sufficient pressure before starting. Ideally, it takes only 2-3 seconds. If the pump continues to hum further, then there are problems with the valves or diaphragm.
The second sign is the characteristic manner of car behavior. Belatedly, the machine will respond to the gas pedal. There will be dips during acceleration. Sometimes jerks are observed simply in motion at stable speeds.
In more advanced situations, the machine may simply stall. If your tank is far from empty and the car suddenly stalls, it means that gas supply to the engine has stopped. In this case, it is necessary to replace the fuel pump relay with a VAZ-2112 or the submersible element itself.
And finally, the engine will be unstable at idle. There is a feeling that the motor is troit. If the element is completely burnt, then when the ignition is turned on, there will be no pump hum (even short-term).
Replacement
So, our pump burned out, we bought a new one and we want to install it. First, we need to reduce the pressure in the system (so as not to fill the entire cabin with gasoline from the tubes). To do this, find the appropriate fuse (the diagram is indicated on the back of the cover), start the motor and remove the element during its operation. The machine will run for a couple of seconds, and then stall. This is a sign that the gas in the system has run out, and we can proceed with further actions. So, open the back door and remove the sofa. To do this, press on both sides of the latch under the carpet. Then we will see a small hatch.
Underneath it lies the VAZ-2112 gas pump. Unscrew a couple of screws with a screwdriver and remove the cover to the side. Then with a ring wrench or a ratchet head we unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the pump. There are 8 of them.
How is the gas pump replaced with the VAZ-2112? The next step is to disconnect the fuel pipes. Depending on the type of motor (8- or 16-valve), they can be mounted on chips, or tightened on bolts. Also turn off the chip with the wires.

Installation

To remove it, you do not need to use keys or other equipment. It is easy enough to pull the hand and remove it from the seat. Also replace the mesh (coarse filter). Then install a new element in the same grooves and do not forget to put on a plastic cup. Carefully place everything in the tank and twist on the bolts, sealing everything with an elastic band. This completes the entire replacement.
Cost
The price of a new VAZ-2112 gasoline pump ranges from 1200 to 2000 rubles. What is noteworthy, the Boshevsky element turned out to be the cheapest. Of course, no one in Germany will make pumps for the Dvenashka.
This is a cheap Chinese fake. Therefore, it is better to buy a Saratov pump. It will last much longer than its counterpart. Also note that most of the elements are already sold in the module (complete with all tubes, filters, glasses, etc.). This significantly speeds up the replacement process.
Useful advice
When replacing a gasoline pump with a VAZ-2112, ensure maximum cleanliness of the element cover. Do not allow dirt from it to enter the tank. It can easily clog the coarse filter (partially get into the new VAZ-2112 gasoline pump), because of which we will have to make repairs again. It is better to clean with a piece of rags previously moistened with gasoline or "White Spirit".
