The word "Sunnah" from Arabic translates as "path" or "following." In Islam, this word means following the path of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Muslims adhere to the Sunna as a model of behavior in life. That is, how the Messenger of Allah lived, how and what he said and behaved in certain situations, is the Sunna. And she serves as an example for every faithful Muslim.
Sunna Foundation
The Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is based on hadiths. A hadith is a clear statement, actions or actions approved by the prophet in a particular case. It is with the help of hadith that the modern generation knows how the messenger behaved and what he said, showing an example to everyone who believes in the One God to a person.
All hadiths consist of text and a chain of transmitters, since the authenticity of the hadith is very important. They are divided into groups:
- Sahih. Authentic Hadith.
- Hassan. Good hadith.
- Madrud. Weak hadith.
- Mavdua. Invented hadiths.
The most reliable are the “Hadith from al-Bukhari” and the “Hadith from Muslim." The veracity of these statements is proved by famous Muslim scholars.
The collections of good hadiths include not very accurate texts that have not been confirmed by the authorities of the Islamic world.
Weaknesses include statements in the transmission of which people of dubious reputation participated. Or if the chain of transmitters was interrupted.
Fictional texts include those texts that someone invented for the sake of their self-interest.
Most Muslims perform namaz in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Nevertheless, there are various branches in Islam, which depart from the Sunna in some matters. For example, Shiites, takfirits or coranites. In contrast, other Muslim groups choose the Sunnah and Quran of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as their direction. It is also said that a person who adheres to the Sunnah will certainly have a baraka (mercy) from Allah.
Sunnah treatment
The Messenger of the Almighty said that the Muslim who revived the Sunna after him, which was forgotten by the majority, loves him. And he who loves the Messenger of Allah will be with him.
But, unfortunately, many provisions of the Sunnah are forgotten or not widely practiced. For example, many Muslims, during illnesses, resort to the help of medications, avoiding the Sunnah treatment of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
And despite the fact that believers still try not to use medicines containing forbidden substances according to Sharia (the way of life of Muslims), they are encouraged to follow the Sunnah.
The hadiths from al-Bukhari and Muslim say that there is no disease that cannot be cured. And the messenger said that if Allah sends the disease, then healing from it will certainly be.
In the treatment of sunnah, natural components are used that do not contain chemical additives. It:
- black cumin;
- olive oil;
- garlic;
- honey;
- water;
- dates;
- ginger;
- kist al hindi (costus).
They say about black cumin that it is a panacea for all ailments except death. It strengthens the immune system, has an analgesic effect, helps with lactation, asthma, rheumatism, gastritis, kidney disease, the cardiovascular system and much more.
The use of oil from caraway seeds is widely practiced, but it is better not to drink it during pregnancy. But the seeds, on the contrary, will be useful to both the mother and the fetus.
Cumin is taken when its seeds are crushed. You can use a mortar or coffee grinder for this. Take 1 tsp. daily and drink with water.
Honey is dissolved in warm water and drunk on an empty stomach in the morning. Only 1 teaspoon is needed, and a lot of the benefits of such water will be added.
Dates are useful to everyone, but they are especially necessary for women during pregnancy or lactation. Minerals and vitamins contained in them can prevent a large number of diseases, including stomach cancer.
Olive oil improves appearance and vision.
Ginger strengthens the body, helps with colds, soothes nerves.
Garlic is an antibacterial product that also strengthens the walls of blood vessels and capillaries.
Kist al Hindi reduces the risk of stressful situations and helps men regain their former strength. It also has an antipyretic and regenerative effect.
Hijama
Hijama is a bloodletting process. According to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), healing power consists of three things - this is honey, bloodletting and cauterization. However, he personally considered moxibustion superfluous and forbade it to his ummah (followers).
Islamic scholars recommend that this procedure be performed on any day except Tuesday, in the afternoon. The stomach should not be full or empty. It is not recommended to do any physical activity before.
According to the hadiths, it is clear that the messenger made incisions on any part of the body, depending on the circumstances and the location of the pain.
The benefits of bloodletting have been proven by many reputable scientists of the time. Blood removed in this way causes the body to activate almost all systems. Reserves awaken and begin to make up for losses.
Nowadays, there are still specialists in hijam. Judging by the reviews of many people, this really brings great benefits and healing.
Therefore, hijama based on the sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is definitely recommended for use.
Three day post
For three days in a row, the Messenger of the Almighty held the post on the 13th, 14th and 15th day of the hijra (Muslim calendar). According to the tradition of the Sahaba, he did this even during campaigns. And he always tried to open a post with dates.
Friday clothes
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "How wonderful if you have separate clothes that you wear on Fridays."
Therefore, putting on festive clothes on the fifth day of the week , the Muslim follows the Sunnah and becomes one step closer to God.
Children
The messenger paid attention to every person from his community and respected everyone. He warmly welcomed not only adults, but also young children. According to numerous hadiths, it is clear that he appreciated and considered them also full-fledged inhabitants of his ummah.
Ishrak namaz
If a Muslim after morning prayer Fajr waits for sunrise and then after 20 minutes makes another prayer in 2 rak'ahs, then he will perform Ishraq prayer.
According to the messenger, the one who makes this worship of the Almighty will receive a reward for both Hajj and die (a large and small pilgrimage to Mecca).
Dream pose
According to the Sunnah, the correct posture for sleep is the position on the right side, with both hands under the cheek. Sleeping on your stomach, according to Islam, is very undesirable. So, once, when he saw how one Sahab was sleeping, the prophet told him that this pose was very unloved by the Almighty Creator.
Sunnah bath
The ablution, according to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), should be carried out in stages in this way:
- Intention.
- Rinse under water three times with wrists.
- Then rinse 3 times between the fingers, not forgetting to remove jewelry.
- Rinse mouth and nose 3 times.
- Then fill the palms with water and wash your face.

- Wipe hair with wet palms from the forehead to the back of the head
- Rinse your hands and simultaneously wipe your ears from the inside and back, then immediately wipe your neck with three fingers.
- The last step is to rinse your feet ankle-deep and between your toes.
Miswak
A hadeeth from Tirmizi says that the prophet said that he was afraid to obstruct his ummah if he ordered him to use miswak constantly.
The Messenger of Allah was very attentive to oral hygiene. After all, dental health is important for people. Miswak contains substances that kill many bacteria in the mouth, makes teeth clean, and breathing fresh.
A miswak is made from arak wood, it is quite inexpensive, and it is easy to find in Islamic stores.
Three knots
According to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), when a person goes to bed, the shaitan knots 3 knots over him, saying over each one that the night is long, so you need to sleep soundly.
When a Muslim rises in the morning prayer and praises the words of the Most High, the first knot breaks up. Performing ablution, a Muslim unravels the second knot. And having done the prayer, the believer unties the third knot.
Therefore, morning worship is so important for every believer in Allah.
