Food foil is an indispensable tool in any kitchen. It is used as a thermos when storing warm or cold products, it is used for baking and as a packaging for ready meals. But it turns out that there are several rules that should be followed when using foil. In particular, for a longer preservation of the temperature of the product, it should be wrapped in foil in several layers, pressing them as tightly as possible. Only special food foil can be in contact with products, do not take technical.

Many people think that it is extremely important which side to put the foil to the products. In fact, there is not much difference. But at the same time, experienced cooks still prefer to press the smooth side to the products for a closer contact. There is also an opinion about the dangers of aluminum, from which the foil is made. Indeed, when it comes into contact with products and when exposed to high temperatures, it (hypothetically) can penetrate into them. In fact, food foil is used for cooking, which is completely harmless to humans, regardless of heating or cooling.
Usually fish or meat is baked in foil. In this case, the products are prepared in their own juice and are obtained with a more saturated taste. Sometimes the ingredients are not completely wrapped in it, but covered on top according to the principle of the lid. At the same time, it does not matter which side to put the foil on, because its function is not to let air pass through to the contents of the pan or pan. Fifteen minutes before the dish is ready, it is better to remove the foil to get a golden crust (or at least slightly open), otherwise it will not be baked, but stewed.
How to bake fish
There are 2 options: prepare the whole carcass whole or in pieces (steaks or fillets). In both cases, a tasty, juicy dish is obtained. Which side to put the foil in this case is absolutely not important. If the fish is cooked whole, then it is pickled in salt, spices and lemon juice, placed in the belly greens and slices of lemon, and then wrapped. If pieces are prepared, then each of them is wrapped separately. At the same time, cut and fried vegetables (bell peppers, onions, carrots), cheese, mayonnaise can be put on top of fish. Fish is baked quickly - in about 20 minutes. So you can cook everything from ordinary mackerel or pollock to trout or salmon.
Foil Chicken
Poultry meat is also more tender and juicy, if you use foil. Usually they take a whole carcass, grease it with salt inside and out, sprinkle with spices (you can put a bunch of greens inside), wrap it in 1 layer of foil and bake at a moderate temperature for about 40 minutes. In the process of preparation, juice is formed, which can later be used to prepare the sauce. Which side to put the foil on is also not important. The result will depend on how tightly it will fit to the carcass.
Cooking vegetables
In addition to meat, vegetables can also be wrapped in foil for baking. For further use in salads and other snacks, whole bell peppers, eggplant, and beets are baked whole. It is important not to use foil for the preparation of fruits (apples or quinces), since it destroys vitamin C faster, and it affects the taste not in the best way.
