In the world of heavy music, the German band Rammstein has become one of the most amazing phenomena of recent decades. And probably today not a single person is found who would not hear about her. Today, the group has gained worldwide popularity, which can be safely compared, so to speak, with their colleagues in the workshop, such mega-popular metal grandees as Scorpions, Helloween, Destruction, Accept, Warlock, Sodom, etc. However, it is worth noting that all of these collectives are English-speaking, with rare exceptions. Indeed, during their rise to world fame with German texts, it was absolutely impossible to achieve recognition. First of all, this was due to recognition in the UK and the USA. Without this, there was nothing to say about world fame.
Another thing is Rammstein. The discography, the history of which will be described below, consists exclusively of songs in German, which only enhances the stiffness effect of their music. Look, after all, even in the USA, the group with its lyrics and enchanting shows was greeted, as they say, with a bang.
Rammstein. Discography and biography: some of the story
Let's see how it all began, and where, in fact, the name of the collective and its propensity for such shocking texts came from.
The year of foundation of the group is considered the 1994th. Then the leader-guitarist of one of the German bands Richard Kruspe tried to combine the classic sound of hard rock with the industrial style, which was gaining momentum at that time. His like-minded people were vocalist Till Lindemann, bassist Oliver Riedel, drummer Christoph Schneider, and a year after the founding, second guitarist Paul Landers and a keyboard player named Christian Lorenz.
Basically, Rammstein’s discography started from there. True, here the story played a cruel joke with the group. The fact is that the band was originally called Rammstein Flugschau. This was the name of the air show held in Ramstein (by the way, the name is written with one letter "m"). But the team, either intentionally or accidentally, attributed one extra letter.
But the "surprises" did not end there. At one of these events, a catastrophe occurred: 3 planes collided, as a result of which about 80 people died and more than 300 were injured of varying severity. Allegedly, the musicians did not know about this incident, and when they found out, it was too late to change the name.

What preceded the advent of the Rammstein band
As for the beginning of creative activity, professional musicians came together in the collective, before that they had already played in various German groups, which, however, did not become famous.
For example, Kruspe got a good school in Orgasm Death Gimmick, Lendemann is an ex-drummer of First Arsch, Riedel used to play in The Inchtabokatables, Schneider was a member of Die Firma, and the second guitarist Lander and keyboardist Lorenz came from Feeling B All of these teams had a different direction in music, apparently, this influenced the creation of such an interesting mix, which became Rammstein.
The first steps on the big stage
The first album was received by critics and listeners warmly enough. Of course, it was too early to talk about the popularity that followed, however, such compositions as Du riechts so gut, Seeman, Das alte Leid, Weisses Fleisch, etc., rose high in the charts.
I must say that at the same time, the young group was spotted by such a famous musician in the industrial world as Trent Reznor (permanent frontman and leader of the Nine Inch Nails team). It was he who gave his recommendations to David Lynch so that Rammstein recorded the soundtrack for the film "Highway to Nowhere."
The advent of popularity
From this moment, the discography of Rammstein moves to a new round. Despite the fact that in the first tour the group acted as the opening act for Clawfinger, she managed to subdue the audience with her incredible pyrotechnic shows. Very often, the vocalist at the beginning of the concert shot archery with three burning arrows, and the images of the band members looked clearly futuristic.
Real recognition came to the group after the release of the singles Engel and Du hast, which became practically its hallmark. It happened in 1997, and then the world saw the complete Sehnsucht album. The release of the Mutter album only confirmed that the team is on the chosen path quite confidently. It is especially worth noting the compositions of Mutter, Ich will, Feur frei, etc. The album itself, according to the magazine Metal Hammer, was included in the top ten best works in the style of industrial (4th place in the list).
