In the event that you feel a decrease in power while riding a car, you feel jerks and dips when you press the pedal, there is unstable idling and increased fuel consumption, and the car's operation has become unstable, it is quite possible that the nozzles are coked. This term refers to clogging with solid resinous deposits of nozzle channels through which fuel must flow.
If the nozzle becomes contaminated, then the fuel spray from it is disrupted, which leads to a deterioration in its mixing with air. This leads to a decrease in the operability of the entire fuel system of the car. A rational solution in this situation is to clean the nozzles. This procedure will restore the former coherence of the functioning of all systems of the machine without significant financial costs.
To date, nozzle cleaning is carried out in several ways:
- flushing with fuel additives;
- manual flushing with special liquids;
- flushing with special liquids on the stand;
- ultrasonic cleaning of nozzles.
It is worth noting that only the first 2 methods are feasible in the "field" conditions. The remaining 2 methods should be implemented by the hands of professionals in car services.
The most effective (and at the same time affordable) method is to clean the nozzles with your own hands using special liquids. For this procedure, the following components are required:
- washing liquid;
- button;
- 2 wires of the same length;
- insulating tape;
- tool;
- battery;
- 5 mm silicone tube.
Today there are quite a lot of types of washing liquids, however, they practically do not differ from each other. In this case, it is preferable to purchase 2 cans of 0.25 l each over 1 can of 0.5 l. This is due to a significant decrease in pressure in the large spray can as it is emptied.
2 hours before the nozzle cleaning procedure, leave the car alone. Such a measure will help prevent fuel spillage during basic work, because after a downtime the pressure in the fuel system of the machine is minimal. Before cleaning nozzles begins, they must be removed from the vehicle. To do this, dismantle the fuel rail. Then you can remove each of the nozzles. In addition, before starting cleaning, it is necessary to carry out several preparatory steps:
- Ensure a reliable connection between the nozzle and the spray can using a silicone tube.
- Bring current to the nozzle. To do this, a button is installed in the gap of any of the wires using twisting. It is needed so that the current can be supplied pulsed. One end of each of the wires is connected to the battery, and the other to the nozzle. When the button is pressed, current begins to be supplied to the nozzle. To stop feeding it, just release the button.
Before flushing, the nozzles must be cleaned from the outside. After this, it is advisable to remove all rubber parts, since the flushing fluid contributes to their swelling and deformation. The washing itself is carried out in several stages:
- Pressing the spray can.
- Clicking the button.
- Cleaning nozzles with flushing fluid. It is carried out until the spray becomes uniform.
- Re-flush to flush out any remaining deposits.
This ends the flushing of the nozzles.
