Daughters of the Prophet Muhammad, who are they?

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was the greatest person in Islam. It was he who became the founder of the religion of monotheism, leaving the Koran after the death of the Islamic community. The entire branch of the descendants goes back to the daughter of the prophet Muhammad - Fatima. It is from her children that a noble race continues.

What were the daughters of the prophet Muhammad?

In total, the prophet had seven children. Six of them were born by one woman, the wife of Khadija bint Huvailid. The seventh son, Ibrahim, was born by the last wife of Mariyat (Maria Koptskaya). Four of all children are the daughters of the prophet Muhammad. Three of them died before the death of the messenger. And only one survived her father for 6 months. All three sons died in childhood. The first baby, Qasim, died when he was 2 years old. The sixth boy, Abdullah, and the seventh, Ibrahim, passed away in infancy.

The names of the daughters of the Prophet Muhammad are as follows:

  • Zainab;
  • Rukia;
  • Ummu Kulsum;
  • Fatima

All the daughters of the Prophet Muhammad were believing girls, God-fearing and fully followed the teachings of their father.

Zainab Bint Muhammad

The girl was a long-awaited child. Her birth made the messenger happy. They began to get married to the beauty at the age of 11 years. For the right to marry her, the most distinguished families of Mecca and a man from the Quraysh tribe fought. But the choice fell on Abul-Asa, the nephew of Khadija, the mother of Zainab. The guy asked the girl’s hands, to which he answered with consent. The marriage took place at a time when Muhammad had not yet begun his mission as a prophet.

The girl was happy in the marriage, from which two children were born - the girl Umamah and boy Ali. The first grandson of the messenger died small, and the granddaughter outlived her grandfather, who loved her so much that he even allowed him to sit on his shoulder during the prayer.

When Muhammad began his prophecy, Zaynab without hesitation followed her father, accepting Islam. The husband of Abul-As refused to accept the monotheism faith, fearing the wrath of the tribe for refusing the faith of his ancestors.

Soon the prophet with his family moved to Medina. Zaynab had to stay with her husband in Mecca. Then there was the famous battle "Badr" between believing Muslims and pagans. Muslims won, captured the survivors, among whom was the son-in-law of the prophet.

Battle of Badr

When the Meccans wanted to make an exchange, the necklace for Abul Asa was handed over to the prophet. And he saw that this jewel belonged to his daughter, and she, in turn, was handed over to her by Khadija's mother. And they released Zaynab’s husband, but on condition that he parted with his wife and let her go to his father in Medina. The girl was released, but due to unrest among the people, she fell from the camel and lost the child she carried in the womb.

After 6 years, Abul-As was again captured by the Muslims, but this time he was released together with his property, since Zainab stood up for him. Having returned everything to the owners, the man pronounced a certificate of acceptance of Islam, and left Mecca for Medina to his family. A year after the reunion of the spouses, Zainab dies from the consequences of a fall from a camel.

Rukiya bandage Muhammad

The girl married the son of the Meccan Abu Lahab. But he forced his son to give her a divorce, after which Rukia became the wife of Usman. They had a son who soon died. The young woman was ill, and her husband looked after her, which became an obstacle to his participation in the Battle of Badr. Rukia died on the day of the victory of Muslims over the Gentiles.

Umm Kulsum Bandage Muhammad

The girl became the wife of another son of Abu Lahab, but also divorced him, as did the elder sister Rukiya. After the death of her sister, she married Usman (husband of the late sister). Usman then received the nickname "Zunnurayn", which meant "the owner of two lights."

However, according to another version, he was so nicknamed, because he stood idle for many nights in prayer and reading the Koran. Since it is believed that the Qur'an is “light” and night prayer is also “light”. The third daughter of the prophet died 9 years after moving to Medina.

Fatima Bint Muhammad

The girl was born shortly before the start of the prophetic mission, according to some sources, somewhere in 5 years. She became the youngest and most beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad. She loved her father very much and was like two drops of water like him.

From childhood, she studied Islam, was a believing and modest girl. Fatima was always with her father, she was a witness to all the oppression and persecution suffered by the prophet.

When the girl became an adult, the most eminent men began to get married to her. Among them was even Abu Bakr and Umar. But the prophet gave preference to Ali ibn Abu Talib. The couple were happy in a marriage, from which four children were born: 2 daughters and 2 sons. The sons of Hassan and Hussein became the only descendants of their family.

Muslim grave

Fatima is the daughter of the prophet Muhammad, who became the only wife of her husband, despite the fact that he could marry again, Ali did not bring another woman to the house. She died 6 months after the death of her father. Ali's husband himself washed the body of the deceased and buried him in an unknown place for political reasons.

All the daughters of the Prophet Muhammad were deeply religious, they stood idle nights in worship of the Almighty.
