Each teacher has his own “handwriting”. And it is useless to try to retrain the teacher, since it is really comfortable he can work only in his own way. Which, of course, does not negate the need to observe pedagogical ethics and to take responsibility for work. So what are styles of teaching?
Categories are diverseThere are a lot of classifications. Western and domestic, old and new. In fact, when your teacher wants to learn about the styles of teaching, he usually wants you to talk about the standard classification. It distinguishes three types of teacher work: democratic, liberal and authoritarian. In fact, there are only two full-fledged species in this classification: the first and the third.
School loafer
After all, what is liberal? This, in essence, is a teacher’s neglect of his duties when he allows students to do whatever they want. And this happens systematically. Such a teacher intervenes little in the educational process. That is, he can tell, and ask, and check notebooks, but at the same time he has zero discipline, they don’t listen to him - and, in fact, he doesn’t care.
Just wonderingNow we describe the two remaining types. If the individual style of pedagogical activity is democratic, this means that the teacher listens to the students' statements with the rights of an advisory opinion. That is, schoolchildren know that they have the right to express dissatisfaction or criticism, and for this right no one will suffer just what. Such a teacher also draws attention not by force: screaming, pressure, punishment, but by persuasion. But the main way of teaching with such a teacher is to awaken the desire to learn in children. It is for such teachers that the “tails” of children go, and not only in elementary school.
Power is unlimited
Styles of pedagogical activity (classical) include the so-called authoritarian method. A teacher of this type prefers to be the only source of real power. It is very difficult to influence and take him “weakly”, his “Moscow” does not believe in the tears of schoolchildren, he is firm, he sets out the material very clearly. The strict requirements of the teacher, however, do not change, so it is comfortable with him. Sometimes only problems arise with older teachers of this type. Their ability to flexibly look at the situation with age decreases, and they "spoil" a lot of medals. Or they will squeeze a possible medalist to an excellent mark with additional classes, open pressure and long conversations. Pupils of teachers of an authoritarian type most often win at subject Olympiads.
What turns outStyles of the teacher’s pedagogical activity, naturally, affect his results. It is clear that the liberal type of teachers do not have special achievements at all, their very stay in school is temporary until they find “something better” (and begin to spoil the blood of the new employer). Teachers of an authoritarian type achieve the highest results, and not several students, they raise the level of the whole class. But democratic achievements are more modest. Their students also win, but less often. However, there is one interesting feature - democratic wards are successfully engaged, even when the teacher fell ill or quit. But the class performance of an authoritarian teacher without him drops sharply and noticeably. Now you know what styles of pedagogical activity are, their pros and cons.
