Your child will have a birthday soon, and you want to make him a surprise cake with your own hands? I have an idea! Decorate your culinary gift with gingerbread cookies on a stick. For the cake - a very beautiful and original solution that will be enjoyed (literally) by your birthday person and young guests of the holiday. We offer you two recipes for a delicious decoration.
Cinnamon Gingerbread Ingredients
Gingerbread on a stick is prepared in a very fun and simple way. Here is what you need for the test:
- 3 cups with a hill of flour;
- 2 tablespoons of honey;
- 3 tablespoons of sugar;
- 60 grams of butter;
- 2 chicken eggs;
- half a teaspoon of soda;
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon;
- 50 grams of water.
You will also need wooden skewers or toothpicks (depending on the size of future gingerbread cookies) and a plastic bag. To decorate your gingerbread cookies on a stick, you will need icing, a recipe for which you can also find in this article.
Cooking
Cooking this dish is easy:
- To make the gingerbread cookies airy, be sure to sift the flour before kneading.
- In a bucket, mix sugar, honey, butter, and water. Put it on low heat and, stirring constantly, warm the mass to 70 ° C.
- Add half the flour and cinnamon to the bucket. Stir them until smooth and let cool.
- Once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, beat the eggs into it and add flour mixed with soda. Continue to knead the dough for 5-7 minutes. Please note that you should not knead longer to avoid undue stiffness of future gingerbread cookies.
- Roll the finished dough into a layer no more than a centimeter thick. Do not forget to sprinkle the table with flour before rolling. There should not be a lot of flour, since the dough has the peculiarity of absorbing it and will become a bit dry - which we do not need.
- From the finished dough, cut the figures: arbitrary or special molds.
- Make wooden skewers of the required length and stick them in the gingerbread cookies.
- Line a baking sheet with pastry paper and lay out the finished dough products, leaving sufficient gaps between them.
- Gingerbread cookies should be baked at an oven temperature of 180 ° C for twenty minutes.
- After the set time, remove the pan and allow them to cool for five hours before decorating with glaze.
Gingerbread cookies on a stick
Another type of gingerbread - with the addition of ginger. Cooking them is a pleasure, and the consistency and smell are just lovely! These gingerbread cookies have a very interesting flavoring feature - they are spicy, not for everybody. If you are one, here is the recipe:
- 2 cups sugar;
- 1 glass of honey;
- 250 grams of butter;
- 4 cups flour (with a slide);
- 1 teaspoon of soda;
- 1 teaspoon of ginger;
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon;
- 1 teaspoon of nutmeg (if desired);
- 4 eggs of chicken.
It is advisable to cook the dough in the evening, as it should reach the desired consistency within eight to ten hours. It may seem to you that the test turned out a lot, but believe me - this is not so. Gingerbread cookies on a stick will fly apart before they cool down and wait for the icing to decorate.
How to cook
- Put honey and spices in a thick-bottomed dipper. Bring to a boil while constantly stirring.
- As soon as the mixture boils, remove from heat and add butter to it, melt.
- While the honey-cream mixture cools, beat the sugar with eggs to a white, taut consistency.
- Pour honey into a egg mixture with a thin stream, stirring constantly to maintain an airy consistency.
- Add flour and soda in the same way and gently knead the dough.
- Place the finished dough in polyethylene and refrigerate overnight. By morning, it will acquire a velvety and rich taste.
- Sprinkle flour on the table in the morning and start rolling out the dough to a thickness of 5 millimeters.
- Cut the figures with molds and put on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. It is important to remember that the baking sheet should be with a flat bottom so that the gingerbread on the stick turned out to be even on both sides.
- Bake them at a temperature of 160 ° C for exactly twelve minutes.
- Ready gingerbread cookies need to be laid out on a flat surface and very quickly insert skewers into them.
- In order to make them perfectly smooth, you can cool them under a press, in the form of a wooden cutting board. In five to six hours they can be painted with glaze.
Ideally, gingerbread cookies are crispy and delicious, even without glaze, and stored for a very long time.
Confectionery glaze
In order for the gingerbread recipe on the stick to be finally observed, you need icing. To do this, take one chicken egg, half a glass of powdered sugar and beat with a mixer to a dense consistency.
Put the icing in a plastic bag or confectionery syringe and start creating. Glazes can be given color with food colors or sprinkled with it with colored sprinkles.
As soon as the finished glaze hardens, the gingerbread cookies can be stored in a bag or sealed container for 2-3 weeks. They will not change either their excellent taste or appearance.
