The day of the paratrooper is not official, but it is widely celebrated in Russia by military parachutists, people involved in parachuting, and just amateurs. This holiday dates back to 1930. On July 26 of that year, Soviet pilots, led by V. Mukhortov, first parachuted over the city of Voronezh. After such a successful event, according to the decree of the Air Force Research Institute , military pilots were equipped with rescue equipment. That day four more jumps were made. And already for three days more than 30 people jumped with a parachute.
This type of rescue operations quickly went into circulation, and already that year jumps were made in various extreme conditions and of a different nature: from high altitude and at night, and into water, and snow, as well as long ones, which were then loved by followers.
The first women who made a parachute jump were A. Chirkova, V. Kuleshova, V. Fedorova. This event happened in 1930. They were strong-willed people with such willpower, courage, fearlessness that only Russians can have.
