To eliminate a tooth disease such as caries, teeth are cleaned and filled. There is a concept of "temporary filling" in dentistry, which is established only for the duration of treatment and diagnosis. To create it requires special material. It should be:
- quick to install and uninstall;
- ensure good adhesion to the tooth so that foreign particles or saliva do not get inside;
- be strong so as not to break while chewing food;
- cost inexpensive.
One of the most popular temporary materials for such a filling is Dentin-Paste.
Features
The main feature of "Dentin-paste" is its disinfecting effect. Dentists choose this material for its other characteristics:
- Dentin Paste is easy to use.
- No kneading is required, the product is ready to use.
- This is a fairly durable material - it can even be applied for up to 14 days.
- The drug hardens under the influence of moisture. This happens after 2 hours.
- The material seals the tooth cavity.
- Dentin-paste does not dissolve over time.
- All the necessary manufacturability is present in this material.
- The drug protects the tooth from staining. This is especially important if filling occurs with amalgams.
“Dentin-paste” is used in order to cover the medicinal product, which is placed in the tooth cavity to eliminate the consequences of uncomplicated caries.
Composition of “Dentin-paste”
This material for temporary filling is produced in the form of a rather dense and dense mass. A preparation is being prepared on the basis of zinc sulfate cement. To give the appropriate consistency, a pasting agent is added to it. As additional ingredients, the composition of the product includes perfumes and dyes.
Thanks to additional additives, the drug is now available in several versions:
- without smell;
- with cherry flavor;
- with the smell of mint;
- clove;
- strawberry.
"Dentin-paste": instruction
Before using the drug, each dentist should read the instructions for use. Temporary material “Dentin-paste” should be applied using a special smoothing device. This is done after the tooth cavity has been prepared. It must be cleaned of carious formations, and then thoroughly dried. The paste layer should not exceed 1-2 mm.
Material hardens within 2 hours. During this time, the patient should not take any food. Otherwise, it is likely that the temporary seal will break.
"Dentin-paste" is easily removed from the tooth cavity. This will require either a probe or a dental excavator. With a smooth enough lever-like movement, pick up the filling, and it easily moves away from the dental tissue.
After the application of the paste has been completed, carefully close the jar with the lid. This will protect the contents from moisture. Accordingly, the paste will not harden and will last a long time.
“Dentin-paste” is produced in containers of 50 grams. To process one tooth, not more than 0.5 grams of the product is required. Thus, one jar is enough to form about 100 temporary fillings.
