Qualitative check of random access memory

Before you begin to address the issue of checking the RAM, you must clearly understand and realize what it is. So, random access memory is such a non-volatile part of the shared computer memory system that stores all the instructions and data needed by the processor to perform operations directly. The most prerequisite for RAM is its addressability, which means that each machine word must have its own personal address.

In order for your device to work efficiently and never let you down, a complete check of the RAM is necessary at least several times a year. Of course, some people, after reading this statement, will immediately rush to service centers, and will require a team of craftsmen who can deal with this issue. But everything is not so scary as it seems at first glance. Each user of the PC, with the help of some instructions, is free to conduct such a test on their own. We suggest analyzing this procedure using MemTest software as an example.

Firstly, I want to note that when purchasing a computer, the technical sheet attached to the device always indicates the amount of RAM that the user must know. For each individual device, it is different, and you can not attribute the problems precisely to the fact that your friends had exactly the same problems. Checking the RAM is necessary in case of problems, such as: often pop-up windows that indicate a write error (can not write) or a read error (can not read).

During this process, the system necessarily freezes and the user is immediately given a blue screen, windows does not boot, reinstalling the system becomes impossible, and when you turn on your device, a new series of errors are issued. The question is, how to check the RAM? Most manufacturers of computer applications and programs have long developed a number of software products dedicated to this issue. Moreover, many of them have already seriously proven themselves; most repair crews use them. One of the best memory testing software is MemTest. In order for the memory test to be performed by this program, it must be recorded on any external medium. Of course, it will be better and better to use bootable media (simply, a USB flash drive) for such purposes. It can be created using the special MemTest86 + installer.

After you installed the program on a flash card, you can go directly to the verification process itself. So, let's examine the question of how to check RAM? In order for the process to start, it is necessary during computer startup to indicate to it that the download will be from a flash drive. Starting the flash drive is installed in the BOIS computer. In order to display exactly this menu when you turn on the computer, you must press the Delete key at the very beginning of the device boot process. The system will provide you with a screen with a blue background on which the main items of the standard menu are located. Here you can see the amount of RAM. You need to select the โ€œBootโ€ item, which displays the general boot sequence from all devices, and so, the launch of the flash drive must be put on the top line.

After that, you can exit BOIS, but be sure to save all the settings. After the computer reboots, the RAM will start and check the RAM. If during the check the system displays the positions that are highlighted in red, respectively, this indicates errors in the RAM, if there are no errors, then your computer is functioning normally. If you find at least one cell marked in red, you should carry the computer for repair.
