When using a car, small chips and scratches inevitably appear on the body; the paintwork is destroyed. You can hide minor damage on the bodywork without painting it again. There is a huge amount of car care products for external processing of the machine.
One of these tools is polish, the basis of which is liquid glass. Auto after processing such a composition will become unrecognizable. Correct polishing will return the paintwork to its former integrity, give it a bright, eye-catching shine.
The main component of water glass is an alkaline solution of potassium
silicate and
sodium silicate. When interacting with air, the solution dries quickly, but the resulting film is easily dissolved by water. To prevent this from happening, waterproof, insoluble elements are added to the solution: magnesium, calcium, aluminum and others. The exact composition was not disclosed by the manufacturers.
One of such means is “Liquid glass” polish. Its main goal is to create an invisible coating that is completely immune to the effects of water and temperature extremes, but at the same time preserves the metal and paint of the body from destructive effects.
Before using the “Liquid glass” polish, the car must be thoroughly cleaned of contaminants. In addition to the usual washing, attention must be paid to the removal of polishing substances used previously. This will help special degreasing compounds.
Car polishes are available in various versions - for light and dark tones. The kit comes with a special sponge for applying the composition, protective gloves, a pair of towels for polishing the surface of the body, instructions. The use of gloves is mandatory, since after the product has dried on the skin, it will be impossible to wash it off with water.
Car body polishing can be carried out both in summer and in winter. The washed and dry body is treated with a special cleaner, sold separately from polish. It allows you to remove the remaining film of varnish from the surface and finally clean the car.
Using the included sponge polish is applied in a thin layer, in small areas, avoiding gaps. Places where the polish is applied in a thick layer will differ against the general background and may even turn white.
After applying the product, it needs time to dry: it is about 20 minutes. After that, the body is wiped with a yellow towel, supplied in the kit.
After another 20 minutes, the car is finally polished with a green towel from the kit. After all the work done, it will take a day for the final hardening of the coating.
To increase the service life of the freshly applied Liquid Glass polish, it is not recommended to wash the car for about two weeks. This time is enough to create a reliable protective layer.
After using the “Liquid glass” polish, the car receives a thin, but very reliable film, which is ready to protect it from dust, moisture, abrasive particles, and ultraviolet radiation. Its action lasts quite a long time - from six months to a year. This period directly depends on the operating conditions of the machine, the washing intensity, and the season.
