On Russian roads to meet the "Subaru P2" is almost impossible. This compact 5-door hatchback was sold only in the domestic market of Japan. Round fog lights were placed a little lower on the sides. Later, after restyling, an air intake appeared on the hood, adding a mini-hatchback of even more originality. As for the dimensions? The Subaru P2 reached 3395 mm in length, 1475 mm in width, and its height was 1520 mm. Due to its size and specific design, the car seemed oval.

Despite its small size and visual compactness, the interior is quite spacious. Salon "Subaru P2" is spacious and comfortable, it can comfortably accommodate four people. In principle, the rear can accommodate three passengers, but they will be crowded.
Interior decoration, in turn, will please any esthete. In the process of decoration good quality materials were used: a nice light fabric and soft plastic to match. Looking inside, a person notices an informative dashboard, a conveniently shaped power steering wheel and clearly located electronic control buttons. Technical features
The "Subaru P2" characteristics are not bad. Under the hood of this miniature car was installed a 0.7-liter power unit EN-07 with distributive injection of gasoline. He had three modifications: L, R and S.
Engine L had 1 distribution shaft, it produced 46 horsepower. The R engine had two camshafts, the power was 54 hp. Motor S was considered the best, as it was equipped with a turbocharger, producing 64 hp.
Models with the first two engines were offered with a continuously variable variator I-CVT. A 7-speed automatic with manual shift function was installed on a car with a modification S unit.
It is also worth noting that on all versions there were disc and drum brakes (front and rear, respectively), as well as a semi-independent comfortable suspension.
But that's not all that can be said about the Subaru P2. The technical characteristics of this compact car are good, thanks to them the model could boast of excellent dynamics. The car accelerated to a maximum of 130 km / h, and for a city-format car, this is really good. By the way, all engines had a moderate appetite, even the most powerful 64-horsepower took only 7 liters per 100 kilometers in the city.
On the pros and cons
In the end, itβs worth saying a few words about how the Subaru P2 receives reviews. The most interesting, of course, are the comments of a few Russian owners.
People who own this machine are happy to share their impressions. Particularly noteworthy is the suspension, which works perfectly on a good road. However, it is designed to ride on a high-quality canvas. Off-road is better to avoid or pass it at minimum speed.
The engine, despite the volume, the owners call frisky. But over 7000 rpm it is not recommended to untwist it, as the noise of the working unit begins to penetrate into the cabin. The most comfortable speed for this car is about 120 km / h. The dynamics are decent, excellent handling, as well as comfort.
In general, the Subaru R2 is a really good car, but with one drawback, which is that the model can only be bought in Japan.
