Dental plaque is certain deposits that tend to accumulate on enamel, gums, prostheses, crowns and fillings. Moreover, the composition of this plaque includes both food debris and a huge number of bacteria, which, in turn, lead to gum disease and tooth decay. Their reproduction occurs after a large amount of carbohydrates is ingested with food.
As you know, plaque is formed due to the fact that the dentin, which forms the basis of the tooth, fades both outside and inside. External darkening is caused in many respects by the frequent use of coffee and smoking. But among the factors that cause internal color changes, they call the increased fluorine content, which can occur after swallowing the paste.
When plaque is not removed, it transforms into dental plaque - a soft deposition of light color. After a week, it hardens and turns into stone.
How to remove plaque on teeth? Simple enough: regularly brush your teeth and tongue on your own and when visiting a dentist. Remember, if you rinse your mouth, then do not prevent the formation of plaque. The main rule of brushing your teeth is thoroughly. If you do this procedure several times a day, but badly, it will bring practically no benefit. You can do this once, but thoroughly.
To minimize the possibility of plaque, it is recommended to choose a paste with a high fluoride content. This element resists the development of caries, strengthens teeth and perfectly combines saliva with its chemical properties. Pastes are also suitable, the main task of which is to prevent the formation of stone.
In order for plaque to bother you as little as possible, do not save on a brush. Its change should be carried out every three months. The Association of Dentists considers the most optimal of those that have a soft structure and rounded at the ends of the bristles. The thing is that stiff bristles damage the gums, thereby causing flaking from the teeth. If you use a small toothbrush, you can easily reach the back teeth.
Of great benefit in the prevention of plaque is dental floss. It penetrates the space between the teeth, thoroughly cleaning this area and their surface.
What factors worsen the condition of the teeth, increasing the risk of plaque formation? Consider the main ones:
- Chewing food. Bacteria that live in the mouth feed on all elements that contain carbohydrates (dairy products, honey, sugar, fruits). It is necessary to use sugar in one form or another as little as possible, because it is important not its quantity, but the frequency of consumption.
- Coffee, nicotine. The presence of these elements leads to the formation of brown plaque on the teeth.
- Sweet drinks. When using them, swallow the contents immediately, without holding them in your mouth. After using any product containing sugar, you need to brush your teeth.
It is good to eat raw vegetables and fruits, as well as peanuts and cheese. To strengthen the teeth, use celery tincture: 250 ml of vodka and 2 teaspoons of the herb, which are infused for 7 days. When rinsing, one spoon of this mixture is added to a glass of water.
Also, garlic, plantain and eggshell (preferably homemade) are excellent remedies for strengthening teeth and gums. So, with garlic, you can rub your teeth at night or eat two slices daily. From the plantain, tincture is made to rinse, and the shell needs to be ground into cereals and taken with a teaspoon per day, washed down with plenty of boiled water.
Remember that caring for your teeth, carrying out preventive measures, is much easier and cheaper than then treating them.
