Today it is believed that in the Soviet era it was not possible for society to learn about unusual and strange phenomena, including extrasensory abilities. People simply forgot about the noise that Roza Kuleshova caused in the press and among scientists. This ordinary woman showed real miracles. Many then believed that Rosa Kuleshova was a psychic. Was it really so? Let's figure it out using the facts.
Rosa Kuleshova: biography, years of life
For a citizen of the country of Soviets, everything was “like everyone else”. The feats were famous for the soldiers of World War II and the rear workers. Since Rosa Kuleshova was born in 1940, she had nothing to do with either. The girl lived in a village in the Urals, went to school and thought how to benefit society. In those days, almost everyone had such a position. Got an education - and get a job. Just nobody will feed, and parasitism does not encourage the law.
After graduating from the seven-year plan, Roza Kuleshova got a job as a nurse in a hospital in the city of Nizhny Tagil. Researchers are silent about what pushed the girl to search for a more serious career, close to art, but at the age of twenty she graduated from amateur art classes. We can only state this well-known fact, we will reveal it a little further. At the end of the courses, Rosa began to lead the drama circle for the blind. In those days, the state stimulated the desire of citizens to culture, that is, created paid jobs for people who would be involved in the development of the population. People who know Rosa noted that she was a very sincere and simple-minded person.
We note right away that the age of Rosa turned out to be short-lived, but bright. She died at the age of 38. The cause of the tragic untimely death is a cerebral hemorrhage.
How did the phenomenon begin?
Each of us has moments of choice. Probably, people do not realize that they are faced with something important, fateful. They intuitively take the first step into the unknown, believing that everything happens naturally and completely normally. Apparently, that is what Rosa Kuleshova thought. The years of life of this woman can be safely divided into two stages: before and after. And the Rubicon is the moment when she began to engage in creativity with blind people. Looking at how her wards read books printed in Braille, Rose became interested and decided to conduct an experiment. Literally, as the sources write, in two weeks she completely mastered this technique. Kuleshova Rose began to read books for the blind with her hands. And here came the moment that is considered to be an insight. The girl, most likely, out of mischief, tried to use new skills to read ordinary books. Imagine her surprise when the text succumbed to her fingers trained in braille. Rose regarded her discovery as a joke. Then the uneducated woman was not aware that she had practically worked a miracle, went beyond the ordinary. Surely the girl’s abilities would have remained unknown to the world if there had not been a slight misfortune.
First confession
In 1962, an ailment brought a woman to a hospital, she was put in a hospital. There, in the simplicity of her soul and kindness, she began to entertain the goods with “tricks”. By that time, Rosa Kuleshova had learned to read printed text not only with her fingers, like the blind, but also with her elbows. Patients were surprised and asked to demonstrate the “trick” again, trying to catch a woman on fraud, to figure out how she does it. Surprised and delighted conversations reached the head physician. He called Rose into the office and demanded to show how she reads without using her eyesight. To make sure that the experiment was clean, the Aesculapius put the first book in the pillowcase. The woman did not save. She put her hands in this makeshift bag and began, stumbling on unfamiliar words, to read an abstruse scientific text.
First glory
Information about the woman’s extraordinary abilities ended up in the local newspaper. The correspondent told readers that Rosa Kuleshova, whose biography did not stand out, was able to discover an amazing talent in herself. In the Soviet editions often published materials about the small exploits of ordinary people, so to speak, for educational purposes. But the note caught the eye of an employee of the local pedagogical institute. This man was engaged in research in the field of psychology. He became interested in the phenomenon. Rosa Kuleshova (photos of the girl are given in the article) unexpectedly for herself became an object of scientific research. Doctors tried to reveal the secret of her body in order to use the material to create technologies that make life easier for the blind.
Life under experiments
Women decided to study the extraordinary organism in Sverdlovsk, in a serious scientific institution. Rosa had to move to this city. According to eyewitnesses, they tortured her mercilessly. Burdened with many knowledge, men could not unravel the secret of her abilities. A woman had a biopsy taken many times (cut off pieces of skin) in order to examine the gene material - maybe there’s a catch in it. Rose had to participate in a series of experiments. She lived on a modest salary of a dishwasher. For her talent, no one was going to financially encourage her. These studies were largely conducted on a voluntary basis. Rosa had to travel to the capital at her own expense; she generally did not refuse to cooperate with specialists of various kinds. No clue was found. Her phenomenon is nevertheless described in special literature and is called the “Rose Kuleshova effect”.
Home experiences
Eyewitnesses wrote in memoirs of what was Kuleshova Rose. She was a very calm, patient and friendly person. Coming to visit, she allowed others to conduct experiments on her. If someone from the company wanted to make sure with her own eyes that she was reading with her fingers, she never objected. The person was asked to come up with special, non-standard conditions for home experience. So, the guest came up to Rosa and tightly blindfolded his eyes with a cloth. She made it possible to check if there were any gaps or if she could peep. In addition, the organizer of the experiment approached the woman from behind and turned his head away from the place where the book is. But she still read, not mistaken even once. No one doubted the purity of the experiment.
Why did Rosa not refuse to demonstrate her abilities?
According to the testimonies of those who happened to communicate with this woman, she was terribly offended by accusations of fraud. The ingenuous soul demanded justice. She could only punish the offender in one way - to prove that he was lying. Therefore, she did not refuse to the curious (and scientists, including) the opportunity to explore her talent. By the way, reading is not the only unique ability that Rose impressed the audience. She could see the color of the thread in a dense bag. That is, she distinguished him with her hands! Today, a lot of things are written about the phenomenon of women. There is evidence that she read the buttocks. Is it true? Unknown But with fingers and toes, elbows precisely distinguished both text and color.
Explanation of abilities
Rosa herself tried to tell scientists about the talent, to help them in revealing her secret. She said that the colors "to the touch" are different. Red, for example, warms his hand and spring. It does not emanate from green heat, and it "does not resist." She, too, did not perceive the texts in the same way as we read them through sight. Letters and whole words give rise to special, clearly distinguishable sensations in the skin. According to them, she identified the meaning of the printed and reproduced aloud. And she did not need to touch paper or thread. She felt the color and essence of the signs at a distance of about two centimeters, which she repeatedly proved experimentally. How this happens, she could explain only in terms of sensations. Scientists were looking for what are the changes in the body, how they are related to brain activity.
Rosa Kuleshova: exposure
The scientific world from the inside is not the way we imagine it, viewed from the side. He is full of envy, intrigue, lies and falsehood. People involved in mental activity are characterized by the same vices as ordinary residents and hard workers. Rosa's abilities were investigated in various research institutes. Scientists put forward their theories, tried to prove them. Some thought that the skin has photosensitive cells (or other formations) that transmit signals to the brain; others tried to find the answer in the genes of women, there were other ideas. The phenomenon itself and its bearer receded into the background in the heat of struggle. The fate of the woman ceased to interest the scientists who were keen on the problem. Unable to explain her phenomenon, these people erupted in criticism of her.
Bullying
That is, not otherwise, what should be called what happened to Rosa. Scientific scandals have become public. Exposing materials signed by eminent scientists appeared in the central press. Honored illusionists joined them with pleasure, caused by ordinary professional jealousy. The scientific community discussed the question: Rosa Kuleshova - a swindler or a psychic? Amazingly, this topic turned out to be much more fascinating than the abilities of a woman. The village woman, raised by her grandmother, did not have a patron. But there was a soul: pure and honest. Rosa reacted negatively to the dirt generated by the lack of talent and spilled onto the pages of the media.
Fight or retreat?
There are situations in life that a person cannot cope with on his own; they are not enough. How can an illiterate woman influence pseudoscientific feuds? Everything that was in her power, she did so. Demonstrated abilities to everyone, tried as best she could to explain the sensations. However, this was not enough. Pundits did not cope with the task, their knowledge was not enough. But that's not all. Honored specialists were not able to create a suitable theoretical base for the study of this phenomenon. It is much easier to declare a woman a charlatan and thereby cover up her fiasco. And so they did. Rose had no choice: to give up or become a "black sheep". For an honest, decent and open woman, neither one nor the other was impossible.
And there was a way out!
Rosa Alekseevna did not give up. She responded to the invitations of all researchers, rode and allowed herself to experiment. I hoped that there would be a specialist who would reveal her secret and wipe her noses with dirty gossip from science. But the gift did not yield to thinkers. This is now easy to explain. Soviet science denied some existing phenomena. She was somewhat flawed, she examined the world one-sidedly. Extrasensory abilities she simply denied, were not taken into account. Everything that went beyond the scientific paradigm was declared quackery and deceit (which, however, is the same thing). Rosa went to those who needed her — blind children. She tried to give her gift to the deprived lads. At that time they wrote that Sasha Nikiforov turned out to be the most talented student. The boy distinguished objects from a distance (he is blind), walked without a guide.
findings
Such a story cannot be left without results. As already mentioned, the woman lived only thirty-eight years, you see, very little! She had to really fight for the truth. Judge for yourself, she already had abilities that could otherwise be turned into money, as they say, monetized. But it was in the Soviet Union, in that lost country, they became illusionists only with the permission of the party and government. A simple woman had to fight the bureaucratic machine from science. And she won. So what is the victory of Rosa? We have not forgotten about her. Although she died a long time ago, her trace remained in the scientific literature and in the hearts of those who are interested in prominent people. And again: Rosa Kuleshova taught the descendants a lesson. It consists in the fact that under any conditions it is not worth giving up at the mercy of an ignoramus from science. There is a way out, if you think carefully. The professors did not want to unravel her gift; he was useful to the blind. Agree, this is the highest meaning of human existence - to give people happiness (or the opportunity to feel it). Rosa found the strength in herself to shrug off mediocrity and turn to those who needed her.
