Hans Rudolph Giger was born in Switzerland, in a small town called Chur. It happened on February 5, 1940. The world did not meet him very well. The birth was heavy, and the first thing the head of the future artist came into contact with was cold metal tongs.
From childhood, he was estranged and more immersed in his own inner world than in the real world. Even in the early years, his almost manic interest in the dark side of life was manifested. Since he grew up in picturesque historical places, he had the opportunity to fuel his interest by visiting places where criminals were executed. Attempts to look on the other side of life were manifested in the fact that the future artist dug up the long-buried skeletons, and then piled bones under the bed secretly from his parents.
One day, his father, a pharmacist, received a skull from one of the drug manufacturers as a reward. Seeing the son’s enthusiasm for everything dark and fatal, dad presented a gift to his son. Thus, finally fixing the direction of the interests of the son. Since then, they have become inseparable - pencil and Hans Rudolph Giger. Drawings come out from under his pen one by one. After some time, he decides to show his creativity, and since then its formation begins.
The path to fame
Giger painted his first cycle of drawings at the age of 19 and called it “Atomic Children”. Even at the age of five, the future artist saw the results of the tragedy in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thousands of disfigured Japanese, a grief of people innocent of anything, an impending threat over all of humanity. The drawings were published in a magazine that was published by Hans's home school.
Already in 1969, Hans Rudolph Giger released his posters, after which the artist will have his first solo exhibitions. But he received genuine recognition after the publication of the Necronomicon posters. Soon begins a new stage in the career of the artist. Giger Hans Rudolph, whose sketch gallery is amazing to Ridley Scott, is invited to work in Hollywood. He is developing a creature concept for the movie Alien. Creativity
It is not known for certain how the relationship of the child with the parents developed.
