Choose a fur coat: what is a muton

It has long been known to all how severe winters can be in our country, so fur coats are one of the most relevant types of outerwear at this time of year. The material from which they are sewn is fur, artificial or natural. The most versatile and practical for our weather is the muton. What kind of fur is it and what is it good for? Can our women in such fur coats look elegant and presentable?

Mouton is a French word for sheepskin made in a special way. And if earlier sheepskin coats were, although warm, but not very beautiful in appearance, today, thanks to a special dressing, they look just as good as products from more expensive furs. At the same time, they did not lose their properties at all: Mouton coats are not afraid of snow and even rain, and also allow air to pass through, while retaining heat. In addition, they are quite durable, and with proper care and storage can last about ten seasons.

In order to obtain a muton fur, the sheepskin is subjected to several stages of processing: first it is dried, then the mezra is degreased, and the hair is bled. Further, after the first warm-up, the skin is dried, kneading and drying again, then itching, grinding and knocking out. As a result of all these complex manipulations, a very practical and beautiful fur is obtained. And in order for it to be more moisture resistant, it is treated with formalin, which strengthens each hair. That's what a muton is. And do not be afraid that the product is processed with such a chemical. This is done at the very first stages of dressing. After this, the fur is repeatedly cleaned, as a result of which all tanning, dyeing and other toxic substances are completely washed out.

How to determine the quality of a muton? Firstly, the product from it should be sufficiently plastic and light, and also have a noble sheen. But at the same time, its heat-saving properties should be quite high. You should also pay attention to how much insulation the coat contains, since it happens that it is reduced in order to make the product lighter in weight.

Now you know what a muton is, but do you know how to store it correctly? In order for such a fur coat to serve you faithfully for several years, it must be stored in a closet, hung on wooden shoulders, away from sunlight and heat sources. The product should be fully extended, other things should not in any way wrinkle or squeeze the fur coat. Before hanging for storage, it must be well dried at room temperature. It’s also nice to put something from the moth in the closet, because what is a muton? This is a natural material, and moth prefers to eat it, and not synthetics. If the coat is dirty, it is best to dry clean.

The color range of products from a muton is quite diverse, so choosing your own shade will not be difficult. If you decide to buy a fur coat, vest, coat or other thing from this noble sheepskin, we recommend that you do this in advance, before the onset of the winter season or at the end of it. Of course, this is connected with the cost. In the summer, you can buy a product two (or even three) times cheaper, since stores specializing in fur clothes make huge discounts and arrange sales during this period. And in the winter you simply may not have time to buy exactly what you want, since the mouton fur coats are bought up the fastest. After all, what is a muton? This is a beautiful, elegant and very warm material, which is several times cheaper than other natural fur. In addition, it does not slip, does not fade, and the models of fur coats from it are distinguished by special chic and nobleness. To give a glamorous look, some models are finished, for example, with arctic fox, sable, silver fox and other furs.
