After 9 days after death, the soul descends to hell to see the torment of unrepentant sinners. At this time, she usually still does not know about her fate, but the terrible torment that she sees will shock her deeply and make her fear her fate. Why did I use the word “usually” in the previous sentence? Because some souls immediately go to hell without even getting to worship God on the third day.
What kind of souls are we talking about? About those who were detained at the ordeal. What it is? They are a kind of frontier outposts, souls on them are delayed by demons, who are called the princes of ordeals. There are twenty such outposts, on each of them demons gather and make a claim to the soul for the sins made. The guardian angel protects the soul. He presents good deeds to demons, which are the opposite of sin, in which the soul is blamed. For example, charges of greed can be countered with generous help to others. According to the authority of such blessed Theodore, most of all people suffer from tribulations from their prodigal sins. Usually this sphere is very intimate and painful, and people are ashamed of talking about their sins in confession. But the hidden sins cross out the rest of the confession. So the demons win with us the whole war for our lives, and not just separate battles. Therefore, no matter how you are ashamed of your not the most specious deeds in the sphere of "personal life", confess them completely to the priest, otherwise the whole confession will not be counted. What happens if a person cannot go through ordeal? He is led off by demons directly to hell, where he is before the final judgment, although the fate of prayers for those close to him can be mitigated.
The soul for the first three days either walks on the earth, or already goes through ordeals. The saints say that all earthly joys pale in comparison with the happiness that is available to man in paradise.
