Nashid - what is it?
Nashid is a Muslim chant (religious), traditionally performed only by male or children's vocals (in choir or solo) without musical instruments. According to the authoritative opinion of most theologians (including the founders of four of the main Islamic madhhabs), the use of musical (instrumental) accompaniment is not allowed.
But today musical instruments are widely used. Usually, tambourine or duff is used as accompaniment in chants.

It turns out that in these songs is missing something that can affect a person’s faith, his values and beliefs. Nashid music, on the contrary, inspires people because it attracts with its unusual melody, and its words teach all virtues.

Too radical Islamic sects are of the opinion that Nasheeds, like any music, are banned by Islam. However, if we recall the history of the
emergence of Islam, it becomes clear that this is not so.

Where does Nashid come from? What important thing happened and when?
It is known that when the Prophet Muhammad performed the Hijra, at the time when they entered Medina, all the inhabitants met him just with the nasheed "La Illyah Il Il." And about this, the Prophet expressed absolutely no displeasure. Thus, Nasheeds cannot be banned, whoever says anything about it.
Usually, Nasheeds sing in Arabic, but recently they have been performed in others: English, French, etc.
Modern Nasheeds are performed both as a cappella and with musical accompaniment, and they can take completely different forms.
Where did modern nashid come from?
The origins of religious chants must be sought in the 30s of the last century. Then in Egypt, the Islamic movement began. In those days, the slogan that was read in chant was popular: "Allah is our banner, and the Messenger is our model."
At the same time, spiritual chants began to spread in Syria. Art elevated to a new height just these very Nasheeds. Beautiful and expressive chants began to be performed by real stars at that time: AlFarfur, Termezi and many other artists of Sufi songs.
Singers from Jordan also charmed with their singing. In the 70s of the last century, special recording studios for Nashid artists appeared. And this contributed to the growth of their popularity.
It turned out that such spiritual chants contributed to the spread of the Islam movement in many countries of the world.
Today, Nashid has become more professional, its content has become deeper and its forms have improved. Moreover, the first video clips appeared at the beginning of the 21st century, broadcast on all television channels in the world.
Haram (sin) or not?
This is where the question (problem) arises: the Nasheeds have become very popular, but, in fact, the music in Islam is the haram ... It is known that the Prophet Muhammad spoke about people playing the instruments, that Allah will punish them. As you know, he himself (the Almighty) loved to listen to beautiful songs performed by girls (without music). This is evidenced by one hadith.
