Blessed Ksenia of Petersburg is one of the favorite saints of the Russian people and the Orthodox world. Saint Xenia lived in the 18th-19th centuries. in St. Petersburg and was a simple parishioner. The sudden death of her husband caused a strong mental shock to Xenia. She handed out all the property, changed into her husband’s clothes and looked like a holy fool in public. Preached repentance, but secretly prayed and did charity work. Ksenia took upon herself the most difficult Christian feat - the feat of foolishness.
The Orthodox blessed Ksenia with prayer and received healing and help in need. In the name of the saint many churches were built in Russian cities. One of the striking examples is the church of Ksenia of Petersburg, built in Voronezh . After her death, she was canonized.
