How to cure breast fibroadenoma

Breast fibroadenoma is a benign seal that consists of overgrown connective and glandular tissue. Pathology can manifest itself as a painful compaction, which causes women to consult a doctor. But most often there is no pain, and a seal is detected only during an ultrasound scan. Breast fibroadenoma is often considered the most common breast tumor today. Unlike adenoma, connective tissue stroma prevails in it.

Symptoms

Breast fibroadenoma can be determined by a characteristic seal in the chest - a movable, dense ball that has a smooth surface and does not cause pain on palpation. But in any case, the final diagnosis will be made by the mammologist after some tests (biopsy, ultrasound).

Causes

Because of what exactly this pathology arises, it is not yet precisely determined. It is believed that the development of compaction begins against the background of hormonal failure. Basically, breast fibroadenoma is diagnosed in young women aged about 30 years. This tumor is completely safe during pregnancy, it does not affect the baby and the expectant mother, but the hormonal changes that occur during this period can lead to an increase in compaction. There are several types of fibroadenoma:

- phyloid - the most dangerous species that can grow into cancer, differs from other forms of the disease by a rapid increase in the tumor;

- intracanalicular - connective tissue grows in the lumens of the ducts;

- pericanalicular - characterized by an increase in connective tissue near the ducts;

- mixed - may have several symptoms.

How to cure breast fibroadenoma

This seal, unfortunately, is not amenable to medical treatment. A tumor can only be removed by surgery. There are two types of surgery: removal of the tumor itself (if there is no cancer symptomatology) and together with the area of ​​the mammary gland (used for suspected oncology). Surgical emergency intervention is required if:

- pregnancy is planned, since the expanding tumor is able to block the milk ducts, which will make it impossible to breast-feed the baby;

- there is a suspicion of oncology;

- the size of the tumor is more than 5 cm;

- for several months, the formation increased by 2-3 times - in this case, there is a suspicion of a leaf-shaped tumor.

The procedure lasts for an hour. The patient is then placed in a hospital in which she, depending on her condition, will stay up to several days. Sutures are removed after about 7-12 days. It is impossible to completely eliminate the reappearance of the formation, but the likelihood of relapse is small. Specialists are now increasingly using laser removal of breast fibroadenoma. Its essence lies in the fact that electrodes are connected to the tumor, by means of which a low voltage is applied. The fibroadenoma tissue heats up and dies. At the site of the tumor, connective tissue forms within two months.
