What is the penalty for crossing a double solid?

Crossing the solid line is a serious violation. Nevertheless, it is found on Russian roads very often. For such a violation penalties are provided. Perhaps this is the only case when the intersection of the solid marking line is allowed. The obstacle is a fixed object that should not be on the road. If the car stopped in accordance with all the rules (for example, it stands at a traffic light or in a traffic jam), then this is not an obstacle. Going round it on an “oncoming” is strictly forbidden and is punishable by a fine (its size may be 1000-1500 rubles). However, even a real obstacle cannot be circled in the oncoming lane if there is free space for maneuver on the right side. If it is not there, then it is allowed to go to the “oncoming lane” with the intersection of a double solid (or simply solid) line. It is first necessary to wait until the entire oncoming flow of vehicles passes.

In this case, they cannot appoint a fine for crossing a double solid, and if it is assigned, then it can be appealed in court, providing evidence.

Turn or turn

The intersection of the solid marking line is also prohibited when turning or turning. The penalty will be the same as in the case of crossing the line during overtaking - 1000-1500 rubles. To turn or turn, you must find the line of discontinuity and make a maneuver. These gaps are located at intersections, and on the tracks they are even indicated by special signs.

In some cases, the driver turns left, but maneuvers too early (even before approaching the dashed line). As a result, according to the traffic rules, he passes a small section along the oncoming lane. This violation is regarded as traffic in the oncoming lane, therefore, it can lead to a deprivation of rights.

A double intersection in some cases does not give inspectors the right to withdraw the driver’s rights. The latter can only get off with a fine in the following cases:
