What is parking sensors? Principle of his work

On the streets of cities every day there are fewer pedestrians and more drivers. Everyone knows how much the benefits of having a car - you can rush anywhere at any time (where, of course, there is the possibility of travel). In any case, time will definitely be saved.

With the increase in the number of vehicles, it is necessary to increase parking lots, which they never do on time. Accordingly, for those who still do not have their rightful place in the parking lot, it is still necessary to take a seat somewhere, and the distances between the cars are so tiny that you can’t do without help. But for this, you will either have to ask another person to stand behind the machine and show with gestures where and how to safely drive in, or move a centimeter, after which each time you get out of the car and check the distance to other objects or cars. Not so long ago came up with a solution to this problem. What is parking sensors? This is a parking device that will significantly increase parking safety and help avoid unwanted collisions.

What is parking sensors

This is an ultrasonic device to facilitate parking. In another way it is called a parking radar. The sensors that make up the base emit ultrasound that determines the exact distance to the obstacle. Recently, updated versions have appeared - in addition to sound on a special screen or display of the radio, a picture appears with accurate data on the distance to any object.

Types of parking sensors

Parking radars are available in various trim levels. The main components are ultrasonic sensors, they can be from two to eight, respectively, the more, the more effective the result, but the price will increase. Parktronic sensors are also installed on the car in two different ways. Either they carefully cut into the bumper, which in the end looks quite natural and imperceptible, or they are superimposed (glued) to the rear. The latter option is usually applied to the simplest parking sensors with two sensors and is not the most effective, since 2 controllers installed even on the smallest car have so-called “blind zones”, which, for example, can get into some kind of column. Therefore, they are almost never used. It is best to install at least four sensors on even the smallest car - the result will be more reliable.

How to install parking sensors

From the rear bumper, sensors (three or four - depending on the selected parking sensors) are connected to the wires coming from the reversing lights , therefore they will turn on automatically when reverse gear is engaged. If you know what parking sensors are, then this will not be difficult to do.

The front sensors are connected to the brake light wires and when you press the brake pedal, they will also work automatically.

You can install parking sensors on a car yourself, carefully studying the instructions. But to be completely sure, it is better to contact a specialized center where they will professionally install a parking radar, check it and give a guarantee in case of any nuances in the future.

Which parking sensors to choose

Remember, even the most expensive device will not be able to show the correct values in the following situations:

- if the sensors are dirty or icy;

- with heavy precipitation;

- when the obstacle consists of a material that absorbs ultrasonic waves, or when they are reflected from it.

Select parking sensors is not so difficult. First of all, the choice depends on the financial condition of the buyer, because the most reliable devices are not at all cheap (for example, Spark, Park Robot, Parkcity).

In any case, as described above, it is better not to take less than four sensors for your own confidence. All controllers will be installed on the rear bumper of the car and will respond very well to obstacles.

Options with six sensors: two of them are installed on the sides of the front bumper, and the remaining four on the rear, as in the previous version.

Eight sensors: four sensors on the rear and front bumpers. Now you know what parking sensors are, and therefore you can choose it yourself.

The options may be different, but only you decide which one is right for you. Have a nice parking!
