Analysis of the work of any enterprise is impossible without considering the features of the personnel of the enterprise, determining labor efficiency and developing measures to improve it. Very often, when analyzing labor resources, managers face many problems and cannot find answers to various questions. We will try to give answers to some of them.
So, why do we need to analyze labor resources? It's simple - the staff is the main driving force of any enterprise. About a century ago, Grandfather Marx determined that without equipment any equipment would be idle, which means that it is human labor that is the source of surplus value (read - profit). Of course, one can cite many counterarguments and arguments that entrepreneurial abilities also play an important role, however, in the most general case, this statement can be taken as an axiom. And since the employees of the enterprise are precisely the factor that directly affects, and, one might even say, forms profit, it is logical that maximum attention should be paid to this factor.
Human resources analysis should address the following aspects:
- Analysis of labor supply - it is necessary to understand how much labor resources are available at the enterprise, what production capacity they can provide, whether there are surpluses or shortages of labor.
- Analysis of the use of labor resources of the enterprise - perhaps itβs obvious that any resource, whether it is a land plot, a machine tool or labor, can be used in different ways. The assumption that the most efficient use of resources will help maximize the profits of the company will not cause objection. That is why it is necessary to understand how efficiently the employees of the enterprise work, whether there are factors that reduce their performance (through the fault of the employees themselves or the company), and what are the possible reserves for increasing labor productivity. This part of the analysis procedure is the most important, since most of the conclusions are based on the results of this particular part of the study.
- Carrying out the analysis of the labor resources of the enterprise, one should also not forget about such an important part of the study as the analysis of wages. Itβs not a secret for anyone that wages are the main motivating factor for an employee. It is also known that both too low and too high pay leads to the fact that the employee relaxes and begins to work less efficiently. The analysis of labor resources in terms of labor remuneration involves the study and revision of the payroll system, bonus system, vacation pay and other aspects of remuneration in terms of their impact on the efficiency of the production process. Do not confuse this procedure with the audit of remuneration, because in this case it is important for us to check not the correctness of the documentation of the remuneration in accounting, but to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing payment system and make recommendations regarding its improvement and modification.
Thus, the analysis of labor resources is an important management tool, and is widely used both in small enterprises and in large multinational corporations. This procedure, of course, can be carried out once, however, constant monitoring of the state of the workforce in the form of monitoring is now considered more effective. This allows you to more quickly respond to any changes and maintain maximum efficiency in the use of labor in the company.
