Gerasimenko Nikolai Fedorovich, whose biography is inextricably linked with Siberia, was born on December 1, 1950 in the Altai Territory (the village of Verkh-Suetka).
After graduating from high school there, he entered the Altai Medical Institute at the Faculty of Medicine.
Since 1973, he got a job as a surgeon in the Blagoveshchensk Central District Hospital. There he grew up to the post of head of department and head physician.
From 1980 to 1985, his places of work were: air ambulance, where he was head of the department, and Altai Regional Clinical Hospital, where he served as deputy chief physician for surgery.
In 1990, Gerasimenko Nikolay Fedorovich took the post of head of the Health Committee for the Altai Territory. Passing to the administrative and public service, he did not leave scientific research.
He was elected to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation three times. Twice he served as chairman of the Health and Sports Committee.
