The first small temple in Maryino was founded in 1996. For the first time, the Eucharist served in the walls of the church and parishioners heard church singing on the eve of the Nativity of Christ in 1997. In 1999, Patriarch Alexy II laid the stone in the foundation of a new, stone church, and in 2001 the Patriarch himself consecrated the church and presented the rector with the icon of St. Alexei.

A few more years the temple “Satisfy my sorrows” in Maryino was built and improved until the Great Consecration of the temple took place. In 2011, Patriarch Cyril personally performed the ordained rank of the Great Consecration of the temple.

Andrei Obolensky was approved as the architect for the temple, and it was built at the expense of residents, organizations and enterprises of the region and the metropolis of Moscow. Maryinsky Church was the first church in Moscow, built in the 21st century.
