Kalinin Military School (KlSVU) with the return to the city of its historical name changed the abbreviation to TvSVU. Now this is the Tver Suvorov Military School. Tver is an old city, and the Suvorovites got a building built by the famous architect Kozlov in the nineteenth century.
Story
Previously, there was a theological seminary in this building, from which not only the clergy, but also people with very advanced views, such as the Tsarskoye Selo-Lyceum teacher Pushkin Kunitsyn, came out. Now the building has been given to future defenders of the Fatherland, who are given a lot in this direction by their native Suvorov School.
Tver remembers that their distant predecessors in the difficult year for the country in 1812 also defended the homeland as a wall. More than eighty future priests and their mentors, who studied and worked in the Tver Theological Seminary, participated in the Patriotic War.
Composer Alexandrov
Communication with the military profession is not only in this. Until 1917, it was here, in the seminary, that the wonderful composer and the very first leader of the best military collective, who recently died tragically, taught. This is the famous Red Banner Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army.
And the composer is the man whose name was and will be worn by this wonderful team that has visited all wars and all fronts - Alexander Vasilievich Alexandrov. These are the wonderful roots that nurture the young minds and characters of young men who entered the Suvorov School. Tver will surely get new, just as proudly sounding names from here - at a certain hour.
About school
Here, cadets receive general secondary and general basic education and at the same time prepare to enter higher military schools under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The Suvorov School (Tver) began its work in 1943, when the city of Kalinin was liberated from fascist occupation. At first, boys from eight to thirteen years old were taken here - orphans, mainly, and sons of those who were currently fighting in the Red Army. The school was staffed by personnel of military infantry schools, civilian teachers served as officer educators.
The first set of pupils was five hundred and six people. Classes start day is December 19th, this is the Day of the Suvorov School. Tver traditionally widely celebrates it. In 1945, students took part in the Victory Parade on Red Square, and since then it has become a tradition until 1995. In 1948, the first graduates left the Suvorov School in Tver. In 1956, the rules changed. How to enter the Suvorov School in Tver for eight-year-old children? No way. From that moment on, only eleven-year-old boys were accepted after graduating from elementary school. It turns out that the training now lasts seven years - from the fifth grade to the eleventh, inclusive.
Military translators
Since 1956, the Suvorov School in Tver received the most incredible reviews. The fact is that the curriculum has changed and partly - the direction of preparation. Many, more than two thousand hours were planned for the study of foreign languages, and this ensured fluency upon graduation from the school. For our country of those times it was a huge rarity. The administration of the Suvorov School was given a new task. Now there was training of military translators.
But ten years have not passed before everything changed in the country. Already in 1963, a new order of training and staffing of the school appeared. How to enter the Suvorov School in Tver, an eleven-year-old boy? No way. Now only teenagers of fifteen or sixteen years old who graduated from an eight-year school could study here. The training lasted not just seven, but only three years. Since 1969 - two. This means that entrants could no longer hope for a career as a military translator.
90s
In 1990, the city of Kalinin returned its historical name, and the Suvorov Military School (Tver) also changed its name. Along with the name, the previous curricula began to return. In 1992, returned three years of study. For all the time, the challenge prize of the Ministry of Defense of the country, the Suvorov School (the city of Tver) was awarded thirteen times! Defense ministers such as Igor Sergeyev and Sergey Ivanov have been here repeatedly. And in 2007 a fateful decision was made: an order was received to reassign the Suvorov School to the command of the strategic missile forces.
Already in 2008, the school begins the transition to the previous seven-year education, and in 2009 a course of teenagers in the fifth, sixth and seventh grades was recruited. 2010 was marked by a complete transition to the seven-year plan. In 2009, the Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov again visited here, and in 2010 a new re-subordination took place. Now the school was transferred to the department of the Department of Education of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Another minister, Shoigu, visited here in 2013, after which from March of the same year the Tver Suvorov Military School was subordinated to the command of the Aerospace Defense Forces, and from 2015 to the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Graduates
In total, sixty-seven graduations were made at the school. About fifteen thousand pupils left its walls, of which three hundred and five were with gold medals. More than seventy graduates reached the rank of general: Colonel Generals B.V. Gromov and V.I. Mironov, Lieutenant Generals G.N. Studenikin and N.T. Chernopyatov and many other legendary commanders. About a hundred graduates went to researchers and became doctors and candidates of sciences.
The school has always been in good standing, and therefore it was considered prestigious to study here. Even relatives of prominent statesmen, illustrious heroes and military leaders studied at the Tver Suvorov School. For example, two grandchildren of Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev, grandchildren of Semyon Mikhailovich Budenny, grandson of Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, sons of the famous pilots Gastello and Vodopyanov, nephew Ordzhonikidze, grandson of Khrushchev and the list goes on.
Today
Now Suvorov School (Tver) looks even more comfortable and beautiful. The photo shows us well-equipped classrooms for classes, where there are all the multimedia tools for training. Practical classes are held in laboratories with the most modern equipment - in chemistry, biology physics, there are two computer classes where classes in computer science are held. Foreign languages are studied in four language laboratories, there is also a technology room. Very much attention is paid to physical education and sports at the school.
Three superbly equipped gymnasiums, a stadium and a sports town serve this purpose in the best way. Cadets must necessarily be diversified people, which is why the presence of an extensive library and a comfortable reading room with sixty seats is so important. The creation of an electronic information and educational environment here deserves a special word. Each cadet has a personal laptop and access to all telecommunication information networks and systems, and also has constant access to the Internet.
Life
Cadets are fed five times a day, no one complains about the quality of food. The monthly allowance of the cadet is one thousand rubles, and orphans - two thousand. The school has excellent sleeping facilities, consumer services rooms (laundries, and so on), and in minutes of leisure, students can visit game rooms or sports.
For leisure, they really have a few minutes left. Naturally, the main time is spent on military and military training, and free time, for the most part, is also organized and therefore interesting.

The forms of such a work plan are very diverse. Extracurricular and interclass activities, participation in creative associations, preparation of events, of which there are especially many. Traditional are such as College Day December 19, Knowledge Day, Teacher’s Day, New Year’s Marathon, festivals Salute, Victory!, Triumph, Maslenitsa, Defenders of the Fatherland Day, Cosmonautics Day.
Of course, there is the last call and the graduation party, for which preparation is also always carried out properly. In addition, there are dozens of large and permanent stocks like “Cleanliness will save the world”, and a number of various contests. All this has long been in the system of traditions honored by the Suvorov School (Tver).
Admission
Recruitment is carried out in fifth grades, eighty people are accepted. The basis of admission is competitive in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation based on the results of entrance examinations and only from among healthy minors of the Russian Federation who have submitted appropriate applications for admission to study. There are categories of citizens who can use the pre-emptive right to enter the school.
These are orphans left without parents; children of contract soldiers; children of civil servants, as well as civilian personnel of government bodies where military service is provided; children discharged from military service after a duration of more than twenty years; children of military personnel or police officers or prosecutors who died in the performance of military duties or who died after injuries, injuries, shell shocks and so on; children of heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation and full holders of the Order of Glory.

From April 15 to May 30 of each year, documents are accepted and the personal files of the applicant are formed. Certified copies, not originals, are sent to Tver, Suvorov School. Documents should be as follows (a personal file includes an inventory of investments):
- An application addressed to the head of the school on the model of legal representatives, that is, parents or guardians.
- The statement of the candidate in the name of the head of the school on the model.
- A certified copy of the birth certificate. For persons over fourteen, plus a certified copy of the second, third and fourth pages of the passport.
- Candidate’s autobiography based on a sample.
- Certified copies of the personal file from the general educational organization, excerpts from the report card, current grades for the fourth quarter, psychological and pedagogical characteristics.
- Four photos of 4x3 centimeters with a place for printing in the lower right corner.
- Copy of medical insurance policy.

- Information from the narcological and neuropsychiatric dispensaries about accounting or observation.

Medical certificates
Applicants to a military school must undergo a medical examination at a medical institution. The examination should be attended by: pediatrician, ENT specialist, urologist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, surgeon, endocrinologist, dentist, orthopedist and cardiologist. In addition, you need to provide the results of instrumental and laboratory studies: body weight and length, sexual formula, heart rate, three times - blood pressure, twice - ECG (test for physical activity and at rest), general blood test, chest fluorography, analyzes feces on the ovum.
If there are indications, then additional documents will be required: ECHO, ultrasound of the kidneys or abdominal cavity, endoscopy for gastritis, radiography of the spine or feet, if scoliosis or flat feet. The following documents are also required: an extract from an outpatient card in the form of No. 112 / , a copy of a medical card in the form of No. 026 / -2000, health certificates from dispensaries for narcological and psychoneurological. All these papers are invested in a private matter. Upon arrival for exams, originals of medical and outpatient cards are presented. In addition to documents and medical certificates, a portfolio should be presented in the personal file: confirmation of all achievements in the form of letters and so on.
